    Pros

Great benefits for a non-profit, great employees, great mission. When the youth are being presented, it really touches your heart about the great things the organization has accomplished.

    Cons

Becoming more and more corporate; fundraising is obscuring the mission of helping youth. Employees being treated lesser as compared to the past.

    Advice to Management

People matter! You can't lose sight of that as your try to become more corporate like and place more demands on employees.

    Pros

Great hands on experience if you are going into a teaching or child development profession. Set schedule of hours and weekends off. Ability to maintain your own custom program, as long as it falls in line with corporate standards. If you love working and mentoring kids, it's a great job for you.

    Cons

No room for moving up the ladder unless you want to become a manager which opens up rarely. Job description fluctuates and increases monthly to adhere to grant programs. Managers rarely deal with employee competition or altercations between employees. No pay increases or next to little to nothing. No clear line of expectations between different sites and branches are penalized for not adhering to standards that were not established.

    Advice to Management

Come up with a clear guideline that all sites/branches must follow. Make reasonable goals and programs. Find ways to compensate long time staff, if even not through raises.

    Pros

The things kids say as well as playing games with them. Also when they say how cool you are. They are very funny.

    Cons

When kids don't listen or when they misbehave. But they are kids. I could be a lot worse but once they listen, you're set.
