Company that screws over their dedicated employees, scams their customers, and has terrible management!

    Puller/Shipper/Packer (Former Employee) Buffalo, NY

ProsI really wanted to find a pro, so this post wouldn't seem one-sided. But I just can't.

Cons-Takes 2+ years to hire a temp, after telling them they would get a review and hired after 6 months.
    - Management absolutely sucks, they just sit pretty while ordering around the employees with an ungrateful attitude. Even though us "lower scale" employees help make the most of their salary.
    - Management does nothing when problems arise. They never confront a person, therefor problems worsen making it a more difficult place to work.
-They don't know what they're doing. Always moving around location to location, leaving many dedicated workers jobless and anxious.
    - They constantly promise things, and never follow through.
    - Bad pay, Terrible raises (if any).
    - They literally scam customers, sending them things they never ordered and billing them. When a customer doesn't pay for the item they never ordered, they then send them to collections.
    - Employees feel very unappreciated.
    - Benefits lack. You're better off with Obama care.

Advice to Senior Management-Get off your high horses.
-Respect and appreciate the people under you, your fellow employees that help bring in a big portion of your salary.
    - Stop moving location to location without any warning to the workers. And when you do, don't promise them positions and shifts that you can't deliver.
    - Have the managers listen and follow through with the employees problems and concerns.
    - Give better pay and raises. I guarantee you, once you appreciate your workers they will appreciate the company more. Which means, a better atmosphere for Brady.
    - Find other ways to make money. Scamming people is very wrong. Remember money doesn't follow you to your grave.
    - Instead of spending 90,000 on a lunch room that looks like it costed 10 grand. How about raises to the employees who have been working their butts off to provide for them and their families?

    Glad I have moved on!

    Marketing (Former Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsThe manufacturing facility in Milwaukee is clean.

ConsUsed to have talented people but they've treated people so poorly since the recession most of them are gone. Average in the talent pool, many Execs have left (CTO, CEO) and Tom Felmer has absolutely no ability to see the value in his people. He's as cut throat as they come. Claims he values talent and people development but behind closed doors it's a different story. He wants nothing to do with people unless they can help make the company money. Brady lacks innovation and has not been able to grow in several years so why now? They used to have a strong culture but that was destroyed during the recession when they slashed so many jobs and did it with absolutely no regard to the people.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive up! Other companies have been and continue to poach your top talent.

Not the Target Company It Once Was

    Manager (Current Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsDecent working conditions and mostly nice people to work with. The work-life balance is reasonable and benefits are basic.

ConsThe CEO and Sr. Management team are totally disengaged and the business is drifting. Bad executive decisions continue and the cost of those errors are being dumped on the employees in the form of higher health care premiums, no raises and no bonuses while the executive team reaps huge benefits. Organic & sales growth continues to lag and, while the company once was a market leader, now lags competitors with a stodgy and ineffective management style. Headcount reduction has become more than an annual event and morale is at an all-time low. Talented people, including "C" level employees are leaving in large numbers.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe best and brightest people are leaving as the corporate culture continues to decay. Extensive use of high priced consultants indicates the management team can't manage the business itself. The CEO & executive team should resign as they have presented no strategic plan for growth and continue to wipe the cost of failed business initiatives on the employees while the CEO repeatedly says he's "excited" by it all. On-going reorganization efforts are simply diversion tactics that do nothing to improve the business. This used to be a great company but is rapidly headed in the wrong direction. Hopefully, the current death spiral can be reversed.

Lacks innovation, growth and treats people poorly

Human Resources (Former Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsNice people- casual environment- decent products- clean manufacturing operations.

ConsNot able to think for yourself or make decisions, hear "that's the way we've always done things", constant layoffs, lack of growth, CEO is outdated along with many of his Sr. Leaders. If they would only invest and take some risks perhaps they could move forward. Everyone looks the same and acts the same, no one pushes status quo, Sr. Leaders promote people they golf with or bring them along from past companies, diversity and creativity are not promoted or rewarded. Boring products and atmosphere.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet new Leaders at the top. The ones you have are stale and been around forever. They all act the same and lack the leadership to drive the company forward whether organically or through acquisitions. You have treated so many of your past employees so poorly and your reputation deteriorates every year.

Nice people but no accountability or good leadership.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsLack of accountability makes this an easy job to wittle away a number of mind numbing years, though not much room for fullfillment

ConsSenior managemnt is unwilling or unable to make a decision or to communicate a formal policy or plan. Future prospects are dim.

Not the place it used to be!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Milwaukee, WI

ProsLocation is nice. Plant is clean.

ConsEverything from HR to benefits to IT etc. etc. is outsourced. It is ridiculous to get a problem solved if you are an employee as you must call another country essentially. Used to be a great place, now just too many paranoid managers and high level management wannabees. Used to have a great cafeteria, library, resources... now that's all gone. Everything is now farmed out to China. Products had at one time a lot of loving care, now the push for new products at all cost comprimises quality.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop making every stuffed shirt a director. There are more than enough layers of managers and non-working Dilbert types. There was a great culture there 10 years ago. Now it's over run by kids out of finance school and non-techies.

Employees are used and abused by the company

Key Account Manager (Current Employee) Toronto, ON (Canada)

Pros- Employee discounts on products sold

Cons- Commissions not paid out on large deals and the rules governing them is retroactively changed in the benefit of the company.
    - Upper management is out of touch with modern business practices, which filters down to the bottom in very negative ways.
    - Company does not care about helping employees grow in their careers, nor is there a lot of opportunity for start employees to get promoted.
    - Company just did a mass layoff because of tanking sales (simplification), but kept a lot of the people in power (most of upper management) who led the company down the wrong road in the first place.

Advice to Senior ManagementReplace upper management with
