    Pros

Work with very qualified people. 10% of all Broadcom's employees have Ph.D.'s.

    Cons

Company grew too fast. Large company still operates like small. Hard to get your work done when you don't have the info you need to get it done.
company used to have a market-lead pay strategy. Now they pay below the market.

I have been working at Broadcom

    Pros

Has a reasonable benefit package. It offers opportunities to climb hierarchical ladder.

    Cons

Work-Life balance not always respected, principally due to multiple leaderships. Management pushes employees hard without rest periods.

I worked at Broadcom full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

It's slow, and easy, not that fast paced. Good for family oriented people. Coworkers are in general nice and mellow.

    Cons

Again, too slow, not too much personal growth. Not a lot of excitement going on.

I have been working at Broadcom full-time for more than a year

    Pros

pay is OK and work load is OK and healthy insurance is better than 80% company. Lots of smart guys who are working for this company.

    Cons

down the hill with the culture of inner core decision making style. So many smart buys who are feeling not fully engaged to do meaningful things. They are doing whatever be asked to do or just because of fear of lose job, They pretend work hard and not speak anything.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

"innovator's dilemma" is happening inside this company. The historic top contributor becomes the biggest road block for new comers. Company is going down the hill now.

Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer in San Diego, CA

I have been working at Broadcom full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This comes from a software engineer's perspective. Good knowledgeable engineers to work with. Good benefits, stock plans. Some interesting software to work on.

    Cons

Can be very fast-paced at times. Interesting work is not shared amongst all engineers within the team. Lack of interesting training for software professional, training more hardware-oriented. The shutdown of cellular division is questionable business decision, but is business after all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Acquire less companies and try to be ahead of other companies instead of catching up i.e. forecast where the industry is going better.
