Climate changing but not for the better...

Middle-manager (Current Employee)
Jersey City, NJ

I have been working at Broadridge full-time for more than 10 years

ProsCompetitive salaries, bonus plans and benefits. Associates are high-quality, friendly and work well as a team.

Cons"Work-life balance" is just a meaningless phrase to upper management. Quarterly reduction of staff for the past few years has left an environment equivalent to a sweat shop. People are expected to work 12-14 hour days, 6 days/wk "as the new norm", burnout is inevitable leading to rising employee dissatisfaction and turnover.

Advice to Senior ManagementWalk your talk. Upper management needs to learn how to schedule projects and assets such that employee work-life balance and satisfaction aren't just meaningless words.

Asssociate- Finance

Director Quality Assurance (Current Employee)
Jersey City, NJ

I have been working at Broadridge full-time for more than a year

ProsWork-Life Balance; Telecommute Day available; Easy vacation approval; killer hours not expected; company growing through acquisitions; lots of training opportunities; department rotations available, good benefits; most VPs have integrity and actually like people.

ConsMost salaries below the median for the NY area-- however, really no overtime required; promotional oportunities tied to tnure;

Advice to Senior ManagementMore closely target reward and compensation to individual and group contribution; identify "rising stars" and provide opportunities for advancement; as some senior managent is nearing retirement-- target leaders that are strategic but practical; high energy; knowelegeable, and have personality to motivate and lead.

Was a great place to work until dictator got control of entire IT staff and stifled productivity with cumbersome process

Senior Quality Assurance Analyst (Current Employee)
Edgewood, NY

I have been working at Broadridge full-time for more than 5 years

ProsDiverse work force, bagels twice a week, opportunity to work 80 hours a week without being compensated!

ConsBackstabbing, politics, penny pinching, increase %, bonuses, benefits, tuition reimbursements constantly being reduced. 80 hour work weeks are common and spinning the truth to make yourself look good runs rampart. Software is old and does not satisfy the needs of the users, technology leaders throw up roadblocks and do not support their business owners. The head of IT is only focused on passing his audits and has an entire staff dedicated to scouring forms to ensure check boxes are checked without regard to any other content. Senior leaders worry more about their audit scores than doing their real job. New products are announced to the street that don't exist .

Advice to Senior ManagementEnable your workforce and remove the dictators and poison people that are destroying the culture at Broadridge.

Satified new hire

Senior Director (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Broadridge full-time for less than a year

ProsBeen here about 1 year, very talented organization with a great depth of knowledge. Strong platforms and brands. Focuses on the employees and clients

ConsTechnology getting a little long in the tooth. Needs to focus more on the future than on past glories. Aligned to existing business structures rather than customers

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease spans of control for managers. Communicate strategy in a prgamatic, digestible form

A great place to work with great people, a real team atmosphere.

Account Executive (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Broadridge full-time for more than a year

ProsBroadridge strives to be one of the top employers in NY year in and year out. This company provides a great work vs. life balance. Ability to work from home on occasion is a big plus.

ConsDue to the large corporate structure, promotions appear difficult to come by. Bumps in pay are also relegated to the standard 3% increases year in and year out. Updates and information regarding specific business units is sometimes not disseminated throughout the team resulting in lost opportunities.

Mickey Mouse Management

QA Analyst (Current Employee)
Edgewood, NY

I have been working at Broadridge

ProsHard to come up with any as of the past 2 years. Used to be a civil place prior to 2009. Not anymore, thanks to the current management.

ConsThe group operates like a nazi camp. Beware, you will be getting into one of the worst process nightmare groups ever.. there is no ryhme or reason why it is the way it is.

Pure dictatorship.

Advice to Senior Managementplease quit and bring some qualified people in place.

Overworked, underpaid

Project Coordinator (Current Employee)
Edgewood, NY

I have been working at Broadridge

ProsGood educational opportunities, decent benefits, interesting perks, flexibility in time off, nice facilities, convenient location in comparison to other options.

ConsLow pay often leads to incompetent staff. Upward mobility is very slow. Very demanding environment given the salary. Work life balance awful.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemember your employees are people and not just hours. Fringe benefits do not make up for low pay. Employee retention is better for business than attrition.
