    Great Company- Not Great Pay

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsGood friendly work environment....no reprimanding for mistakes, just a "Make sure this does not happen again"

ConsNot a lot of training or direction and very low commission so not enough opportunity to make money in commissions

Advice to Senior ManagementRe think the commission structure to retain quality employees.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Good internship experience.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsRelaxed work environment, flexible scheduling, and lots of good interaction with co-workers.

ConsNot much room for advancement. Also job futures were never very clear. Management was never clear as to what was going on with the contracts.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep the engineers in the loop. It is hard to assess our own performance when we never receive feedback.

    Great starter company

Design Engineer (Former Employee) West Lafayette, IN

ProsThe company offers a very flexible schedule to both full time employees and interns. Office environment is fun and friendly.

ConsBeing a smaller company and a contractor, the benefits and pay are not the best. Being located in West Lafayette, you get the excuse "low cost of living" which translates to a smaller paycheck than you otherwise deserve. Experienced engineers do not feel valued and feel like they are replaceable.

Advice to Senior ManagementWith a large number of employees <2 years experience, some people treat work like a classroom and talk/watch videos on their phone/games on their phones. Need to hire people who will focus and stay on task. Also need to make employees feel valuable and needed or else they will find better opportunities.

It's not a bad starter job.

Electrical Engineer (Current Employee) West Lafayette, IN

ProsIt's a pretty simple job to get started while completing school, there is very little formal training. Butler offers flexible hours to their interns and almost always makes an offer upon graduation.

ConsThere isn't much opportunity to "advance" at this company. The pay and benefits are fair but not very competitive.

    Good for your career start

Team Lead (Former Employee) Peoria, IL

ProsGood and friendly. Small company. You will get your recognition soon when you do a good job. My manager was good and used to recognize my hard work.

ConsHigher management was not really good. They could not hold on to customers nor used to get new customers. Not a good company for long term.

Advice to Senior ManagementHas to develop customers. Recruit good staff. But I enjoyed working with my team. I would have still with them if they would not bankrupt.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Butler International

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsThey seem to be respected at some organizations within the Aerospace and Defense community. They represent the employee well when trying to obtain a higher salary.

ConsThey have had financial diffulculties in the past, and now are understaffed. Timely communication about corporate misdealing was not very timely.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease hire a CEO that doesn't rob the company! The strategy of differentiating themselves within the contracting communicating needs to have substanse by either providing outstanding employees or some other value proposition.

Good work schedule but low benefits.

Engineer I (Current Employee) West Lafayette, IN

ProsGood schedule, they work around the emplyoees scedules really well. Most of employees are mid-twenties so plenty of people to talk to. Lots of free time.

The people I work with are good and fun to work with.
There is also ample oppertunity for paid time and a half overtime, but not required.

ConsThe pay is decent but from what I have heard everyone gets a $1 an hour raise every year regardless of skills or work level. The benefits are horrible!!!

Also my raise hasnt been processed yet and I have been with the company for well over a year.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet better feedback and communicaiton with emplyoees. Dont keep employees that dont do anything.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
