    Amazing

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsEveryone is extremely nice and I got to work on a wide variety of projects. The area is beautiful and so are the people that inhabit this wonderful place.

ConsNot many downsides, besides the lack of diversity. The area is generally white and lacks culture that can be found in places like Berkeley or San Francisco.

CAL POLY is a beautiful environment to work, and many of the people at the school are friendly and helpful.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsMost people are good at interacting with others. There is a great sense of community, and there is always a place you can ask for help. I feel that I work in a low stress environment. The people with Student Support Services are great!

ConsThere are many departments (in different buildings) that have to interact with each other. Sometimes working through the bureaucracy can feel unnecessarily time consuming.

It was a fulfilling experience where I learned a lot.

Lab Assistant (Former Employee) San Luis Obispo, CA

ProsCal poly is one of the best places to learn. As an assistant you work under professors and learn a lot.

ConsThe only real complaint I had was that I had to be in San Luis obispo, which doesn't really seem like a negative to most people. Overall it was great.

I had a great time working on campus.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsClocking in between classes is great--I don't have to leave the campus.
Faculty and staff understand midterm/final season and adjust work hours accordingly.

ConsThere aren't many career opportunities in my field and the pay is average--which are both understandable.
