I worked at CBRE as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Employees were nice and mostly kept to themselfs. I enjoyed learning the world of real estate. They have a lot of events and treats.

    Cons

poor training. They pretty much have you shaddow for one week and then throw you in the jungle. The manual instructions are not properly made and are missing a lot of process and procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Prepare a better manual for employees to follow

    Pros

Got a lot of experience working at CBRE as a contract employee. The environment was very flexible and the management was great.

    Cons

It was unknown how long I would be a contract employee which was kind of stressful.

I worked at CBRE full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great potential to grow with the company, and learn new skills. PTO and holidays are comparable to most companies. Benefits are decent.

    Cons

Upper management is focused on doing as little work as possible, while leaving middle management to fend for themselves. If you ask for assistance with something, rarely is it actually given. Upper management is so worried about their own backs that they link up together and basically make it impossible to ever get a resolution on issues you're having with them. Instead, they look at middle management as "disposable" and the place is basically a revolving door. It's true, what they say, the higher you get the less work you do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on training your middle management and giving them the support they need to grow, within the company, instead of hindering their performance with your own lack of work.

Leading Commercial Real Estate firm in New England with ability to leverage CBRE's global platform. Challenging, interesting, fun. Team culture full of individuals that with strong work ethic.

    Cons

"Your either in or your in the way" Internal and external clients can be very demanding.

I have been working at CBRE full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of resources - more than any other firm. Great clients and excellent training. Very ethical and sets high standards for all levels of employee. Very safe place to work - very conservatively run.

    Cons

A very big company. Pretty easy to get lost in the bigness of it all. Pretty stingy with benefits and not very willing to spend money on employees to boost satisfaction or morale. Compensation trends below market.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be so stingy with the small things that make work a pleasure and help employees feel appreciated. Pay market compensation to attract the very best people.

    Pros

Good people at the grass-roots level. Prior to taking a position, try to talk to a current employee on that specific account.

    Cons

Non-communicative management on certain accounts, no correction or attention from above. BUT, that depends on the account, some have really great leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Good time to spend some budget on 360-Feedback. They tout Respect but there was very little from Senior Mgt towards those who actually did face time with the client. Smoke and mirrors.
