I worked at CBS Radio full-time

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good but other than that..I suppose "CBS Radio" looks good on the resume

    Cons

Boring work and zero chance to advance. Pay is poor and you will feel like you can take on more but no matter how much you try, you will be surfing the web for hours and hours just to leave and do it all over again.

Ever see office space? Welcome to CBS Radio

CBS is a great company. Charlotte, however, has a serious disconnect from the rest of the corporation.

I worked at CBS Radio full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've been employed at other CBS Radios in different parts of the country. It can be a great company to work for but I assume it depends on the location. Promotions is fun and depending on the GM/Marketing & Promotions Director, they do help set the mood of the entire workplace.

    Cons

Compensation isn't great. HR is overwhelmed and doesn't kick in much when it comes to the workplace. Charlotte was a very negative workplace filled with unhappy people. There was constant gossip and illegal scandals going on in the office. Harassment issues. Creepy men upper staff and unprofessional workplace.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop with the illegal actions in the workplace. The dollar shouldn't solely drive how a company operates. You will keep more employees in the traffic and sales department if you watch what is going on in that department. Weed out the problem makers and then you may start to create a place that people want to stay to work. Take tips from other CBS Radios. This place was a terrible environment. However, other CBS Radios have been terrific places to work.

I worked at CBS Radio full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good health insurance. 401k match is OK.

    Cons

CBS Radio in Minneapolis is a toxic environment. Unreasonable expectations in the sales realm plague the company. Praise is non-existent and criticism is constant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust your staff to do their jobs. Provide some positive encouragement. Make success a real possibility for your people and don't insult them by saying things like "a dog with a note in its mouth could sell these ratings".

I have been working at CBS Radio full-time

    Pros

This review is for CBS Radio Atlanta. You get to meet celebrities- if that's what you're into. There are some cool people that work there, but a lot of them have long since moved on to better opportunities. The work is steady, and if you're lazy (like a good chunk of the staff here is) you'll never have to worry about being fired as no one seems to care what goes on in this building. On the upside, CBS Corporation does have a nice insurance plan and 401k policy.

    Cons

Management expects you to have no life outside of V103. The hours can be grueling, and the pay is laughable and way under industry standard for most all departments. Expect to be lied to on a consistent basis and promised advancement that never comes. Expect to be promised a promotion only to see someone hired from the outside instead. Expect to be called in on your days off, and threatened when you say you can't make it. Oh, and if you're white you can forget about it. The largely African American management staff has a place for you here, and thats in the back of the line.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get your act together and reward people for their hard work rather than holding their jobs over their heads. A note to the GM: Stop telling your employees how "V103 is the greatest work environment on the planet and people are lining up to get in here." If that were the case, I wouldn't be writing this review and people wouldn't be dropping like flies.

    Pros

Got to see (and work with) a bunch of celebs, attend fun events, concerts, premieres.

    Cons

Stressful!!! Very little pay for way too much workload. Revolving door with no stability. No promotions (ever), no pay increase, too much micromanaging.

I worked at CBS Radio part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The name will look good on your resume.

    Cons

Employees not helpful. You go to events and stand all day without a break, or food. We traveled to all the ballparks football stadium, car shows and out door events. We had to work in the cold without proper outerwear just to display their thin jackets logo. It did not matter if you're male or female they treated us horribly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go back to school and get a real degree in working with people especially pubic relations and communications. You don't know how to do either.

I have been working at CBS Radio

    Pros

You get to see a lot of celebrities. There were lots of free movie screenings as well.

    Cons

People aren't great, HR isn't supportive and the company is 10 years behind on technology. Worst company to work for.

I worked at CBS Radio for less than a year

    Pros

Got to meet some cool athletes.
    Good location-heart of downtown
Marketing department is filled with young people so I could relate to my coworkwers.

    Cons

    Unpaid.
Must receive college credit to get the internship but you must pay for the credits. So essentially, you're paying to work for them.
    Misleading job description.
    Lots of weekend hours.
Lots of travel and no reimbursement for gas/train fares etc.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take better care of your employees at the bottom! If you forget about the little people, you won't be able to retain your top talent!
