I worked at CBS Radio part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Steady job, decent management and good perks. All of my coworkers got along which made the work environment more relaxed.

    Cons

I worked at CBS Radio as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Pros: Lots of hands-on experience, opportunity to learn a lot, and an up-close look at the radio industry.

    Cons

There was no pay, and my hours were 5a-9a. I can't complain, because I knew what I was getting myself into. But down the road, pay would be nice!

I worked at CBS Radio as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Free concert tickets and extra prizes are often given out to staff members. I worked in the Promotions Department, so I also got to go to a bunch of shows and events for free as well. The people are laid back but still professional.

    Cons

Dealing with people over the phone can be hard, especially when they are erratic. Sometimes there is confusion between the large number of interns or new hires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep training young people, and make sure you are always on the same page with what's happening day to day.

I worked at CBS Radio full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I found that working for CBS Radio was enlightening and professionally a strong decision. I made long-time friends and also absorbed quite a bit about the radio broadcast industry. You have the opportunity to be your own self, to work on projects that need attending, and a great place that fosters creativity.
    Benefits package is pretty strong.

    Cons

Once you are out of the company, it is difficult to get back in. Working in any market other than a large market means wearing many hats aka: multiple jobs under one title.
Also the pay is....radio broadcast pay. Historically underpaid for vertical jobs at other companies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be so quick to take the side of Sales. Money is important, but when yo cannibalize talent for short-term money you are only hurting the 10year bottom line.
