I have been working at CDS (Club Demonstration Services) part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The best part of this job is the pay and the hours. The pay is way above average then any other job similar to it; no education needed and no skills needed. At 18 out of high school I was making 11.50 an hour. Also the hours are great, you can pick the days you want, however those days are not guaranteed.

    Cons

Challenges of working here? None. Maybe the only thing would be standing for about 6 hours. There is pretty much no room for promotion working here, it is strictly a temporary part-time job (perfect for college students). Cons are the co-workers are seriously some of the dumbest people ever. They can never do their job properly and no one attempts to fix the problem. Also one of the biggest problems is the supervisors undermine the authority of the manager. As well the manager plays favorites with some of her friends. The only good thing I can say about this job is pay, hours, and you don't actually have to work directly with your coworkers, only the members.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication is key. The managers at our Costco are very bad at communication. Training is non-existent and that might be the reason for so many poor scores. Favoritism is also a problem at our warehouse.

I have been working at CDS (Club Demonstration Services) part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay, Great co workers

    Cons

no more than 30 hours a week unless you are salaried (shift or event supervisors)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I believe employees would all agree a more set schedule would help everyone tremendously, giving room for an education and a second part time job if needed.

I worked at CDS (Club Demonstration Services) part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Pay was good considering it was an easy job. Great satisfaction when achieving sales goals. Manager are usually friendly and most times started as sales advisors themselves. If you enjoy cooking this might be the place for you since you get to cook many different items every day.

    Cons

Part time job. Limited hours. Rude Costumers. Some times is hard because you have to be stand up all during your whole shift.

I have been working at CDS (Club Demonstration Services) part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

interaction with happy customers on a regular basis. flexibility with schedule. pay for job done is great. the stories that customers are willing to share with you can be priceless

    Cons

slow days are extremely slow. seeing how rude people can be. rules for interacting with other employees are incredibly ridiculous. not actually working for costco

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Its understood that interacting with customers is a big part of our job, but not being able to talk to other employees on the floor is really the biggest morale killer we have. Days that are filled with rude customers the only outlet we can have is the support of fellow employees and since employees break on a cycle and not at once its hard to find support alone in the break room.

I have been working at CDS (Club Demonstration Services) part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I am used to customer service positions, and those are mainly negative. Most of what I've demonstrated thus far working with CDS has been food, and everyone loves food. It's easy to tallk about food, and sell it. I enjoy talking with my coworkers and costco employees as they run past too.

    Cons

Standing. All day. Also having to bring a clear purse into the store if I want my belongings with me.

    Pros

Something different every day. Good people to work with and a reasonable rate of pay for a part time job.

    Cons

Business is pandemonium close to major holidays and can be stressful. Customer attitudes have to be tolerated no matter how abusive they become.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Glad to be working for you.
