    Pros

Offshore positions have a great schedule weeks on/5 weeks off. Onshore positions are fair.

    Cons

The French like to spend $2.00 in order to make $1.00.

    Advice to Management

Do away with the "French Management Style". It doesn"t work...........

    Pros

    1. CGG Seismic Imaging hires people from all kinds of scientific background, such as Math, Physics, EE, Biology, CS.... So CGG is a good transition company from any background to Oil and Energy.
    2. People in CGG Seismic Imaging is very kind and the social relationship in CGG seismic imaging department is simple.
    3. Good immigration support. Now CGG is E-verified. Supports H1b and Green Card.
    4. Cash bonus every month and can be up to 50% percent of your base salary if your level is high.

    Cons

    1. Very bad work-life balance in Seismic processing department, especially for new hires without much experience. Though working after hour is not required but some tasks are tough and you have to expend your working hours.
    2. Seems the seismic imaging department policy is to push the new hire hard with low base salary and keep the experienced employees by high bonus.
    3. Because of reason 3, most employees (2/3) will left CGG Seismic Imaging in 5 years. Others left will be promoted.

    Advice to Management

As for the seismic imaging department, very bad life-work balance, no culture, no loyalty, but still a bright future.

    Pros

Highly intelligent co-workers, excellent new hire training program, but less so for experienced processors.
Industry leading benefits. Decent pay for high achievers.

    Cons

Lack of serious employee reviews allow some to sneak under the radar, and remain on the workforce past their usefulness.
High turnover rate due to hiring of non-geophysical disciplines, and stagnation of the advancement process.

    Advice to Management

Some senior management should move out of the way and let others advance and improve the company.

    Pros

Good for freshers with too much energy and NO Family, easy to get funding for higher education.

    Cons

Lack of decent career path. Techies STAY techies culture, assessment on number of bugs fixed, rather than on problems solved.
Management told me that job is Development, but its mostly only maintenance and bug fixes.

Massey Management is too terrible and try to make a literal mess of the houston employees and too much mis communications

    Advice to Management

Respect employees and listen to their needs. Stop being some one who punishes victims!

    Pros

a good place to start a new career in energy industry if you have no previous experience; you are going to work with a group of smart and hard-working people in this company

    Cons

usually you are going to have a heavy workload. The employment offer says it is exempted from overtime payment...
