    Pros

Good people working for a company that is cutting benefits to offset too much overhead.

    Cons

Corporate managers trying to drive the bus with out a clear vision of the local roads.

    Advice to Management

Follow the yellow book. People closest to the action need to be empowered to make decisions.
Reduce your pay and big bonus stock options - cut the non-value OH positions.

    Pros

Mostly good executive team - they know the business. Good investment in employee training. Good investment in IT infrastructure. Strong support for women and minorities

    Cons

Disjointed management structure - they still run this company like a 5,000 person firm instead of a 25,000 person company. The old guard from the 1980's is still there, and they jealously protect their fiefdoms. Very strange marketing approach - almost like they are a retail company rather than B2B.

    Pros

Generally you get to work with very smart, qualified individuals and industry recognized experts in their fields. Challenging projects...

    Cons

No real guidance and mentoring available. Some employees may struggle through making their way through the company and keeping themselves busy finding projects to work on.

    Advice to Management

The management needs to focus on developing and valuing their employees.

    Pros

Huge company with lots of cool project opportunities and multi-disciplinary project teams. Many quality employees and office locations world-wide. Possible to work in other countries.

    Cons

Huge company. Questionable business practices regarding their definition of salaried employees and paid time off guidelines. Communications issues. Information does not get down to the "little people" who are the ones actually doing the work. Management needs to properly communicate, manage, and support their staff. Very top-heavy in high-up management and overhead people, which makes bidding/winning jobs very expensive. Most qualified people and teams don't always (or even often) get the work they would be best suited for because it is hoarded.

    Advice to Management

Improve communication lines, engage the people actually doing the work and paying your huge management/overhead salaries. Change employee policies that impact pay and time off for the better. No employee should have to use their earned paid time off trying to find project work within the company. And especially not on their own with no help. Management needs to properly communicate, manage, and support their staff.

    Pros

Interesting and challenging projects. A global company where you feel connected to some of the most prominent projects out there. High standards so you are kept on your toes!

    Cons

My experience has been that they burn you out when there is too much work, and then toss you out when you are light. No stability at times, many worry about how long they will be able to continue based on workload.

    Advice to Management

Try to be more supportive of pursuing prospective work. Having to be almost completely billable takes away from activities that are extremely important, such as training and establishing continuity of work.
