I worked at CME Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    good compensation, benefits and vacation
Challenging environment with good work / life balance for the most part
    You can learn a lot
    Great on resume

    Cons

Pretty political and still has a very much "he or she are one of our people" type of situation for promotions
It isn't CME Group's fault but the intense regulatory environment sometimes forces employees to do work that adds little value to the process or the organization but is done anyway because a regulator asked for it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees. They talk all the time about how CME Group experience counts but they always hire from the outside because they want the best fit making it very hard to transfer to another division or department.

I have been working at CME Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Professional environment, highly intelligent workforce, and opportunities for those with an innovative mindset. The organization is becoming more open to global mobility and cross-functional job moves.

    Cons

Demanding environment with increasing work pressures. Culture is spoken, but not lived. Golden hand-cuffs apply here... pay, bonus, benefits and stock options make it a challenge to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The good 'ol boy mentality of the exchange still lives on. It's all in who you know and managing up. Imagine what the organization could do by fostering and empowering the workforce.
