    OK place to work

Senior Software Development Engineer (Former Employee) Omaha, NE

ProsVery good source control and build management.
Most people are great to work with.
Usually up to date with latest software.
    Causal dress code.
Flexible hours accommodate people whose children have early morning school activities.

Thanks to some good management choices, software development practices visibly improved over what they used to be in 2008.

ConsFrequent layoffs in the past 5 years.
    Several multi-million dollar project failures.

Advice to Senior ManagementI watched members of another development team quit one after another after another due to one specific toxic individual. How did management allow this to happen?

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Should have stayed put..

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGreat benefits and ok pay for area.

ConsIf your not part of the 'in' crowd, then your labeled and pushed out. Promoting is not easy unless you want hard hours. HR will not get back to you after your leave the company, even after multiple calls and emails.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou should take stock in your employees and not see them as a cash cow.

    Feel lucky to be employed

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Denver, CO

ProsDecent pay, challenging work, good benefits & vacation.

ConsThe reviewer that commented "no rhyme or reason to layoffs" certainly hit the mark. They seem to have gone on unannounced without pattern or end for years. Unlike other layoffs I've experienced no explanation was given for the vast majority of them and no "end" ever announced.

The comments about the acquisitions are things I've heard & felt more than once as well.

Advice to Senior ManagementNothing to add to what's already been said.

Little information-sharing between team members and other departments. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to layoffs

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsCertain locations seem to be more protected from constant layoffs. Acceptable benefits, 401k, pay.

ConsGood old boy network. People live in fear of losing their jobs, making staying of task difficult.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhen you acquire a company, do not try to completely alter the direction of it. That has not been successful.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
