Mildred García
Former Employee – worked at CSU Fullerton part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Good hours if you have kids in school
Good hourly rate of pay
Great atmosphere
Good students
Good coworkers
Cons – Very little advancement opportunities for adjunct instructors
No benefits
No job security
Curriculum was "DIY" with very little support or direction from above
Adjunct teachers do the majority of the work for little pay and benefits
The system is set up to take advantage of the "drones", the part-time teachers who chase the carrot of potential full-time work that the state can't afford to hire full-time.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at CSU Fullerton as an intern for less than a year
Pros – Good place to work while economy is bad. (Hey it is a job)
Coworkers are good. I like the new Mihaylo building. Bonus points for having a full service Starbucks.
Cons – A lot of hurdles you have to jump just to maintain job.
Students are of the entitlement age. They think the world owes everything to them and we are here to baby them. Grow up. It's College.

Former Employee – worked at CSU Fullerton
Pros – Great students, good programs, nice office staff.
Cons – Adjunct lecturers make up over half of Cal State's faculty. That means very low pay and little job security for lecturers.
Advice to Senior Management – You have to throw lecturers some sort of a bone. Really.

Current Employee – been working at CSU Fullerton
Pros – Enjoy working with students. Have to take locals who are not motivated but several of the students from outside the geographical "must take" them are seeking education, not just a place to be for 4 years. Those are a joy.
Cons – Big bureaucracy, Heavy with support staff that make it difficult to get much support. "Smart" classrooms that are not "smart", but somewhat automated.
Advice to Senior Management – More effort on getting motivated students. Better ways of dealing with "entitled" mentalities. Some mechanism that describes employer expectations to better prepare our students for current work environment. Some will go on to academic careers, but most will seek jobs.

Current Employee – been working at CSU Fullerton
Pros – Working at CSUF enables student to have a flexible schedule. They are very sympathetic for students and cater to the student's schedule
Cons – Working at CSUF has extremely low pay. I was in a work-study position and that is probably the reason why
Advice to Senior Management – None, they try to pay us as much as they can but hey have rules and boundaries themselves to follow.
