    Pros

I feel safe at work and it is in a nice location. Benefits and pay are competitive

    Cons

Constant turnover of supervisors and management make it hard to meet everyones expectations

    Advice to Management

Secure a dedicated supervisor for the pharmacy to encourage pharmacists and make them feel that they are being recognized and understand all of what is expected of them.

  2. Pretty good, Depends on store though.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most stores I worked at had reasonable coworkers that were more helpful than they were hindering. My home store had a great manager who had been in various retail positions for about 30 years. Really cared about us. Many stores I worked at had decent managers.

If management trusts you and you're good at your job, they tend to listen to your input or allow you to override voids on your own. However, this only occurs in stores with low shrink.

Pretty easy to pick up shifts if you're willing to drive to other stores. Even if your store is light on shifts, there's usually a store in the area that desperately needs shifts covered.

    Cons

In stores with low sales/bad shrink it's not uncommon to get stuck running the front of the store ALONE for up to 8 hours. This usually means stocking, running lotto, running the register (at the time, running photo but I think that's gone) as well as trying to prevent shoplifting.

When the pharmacy is closing, management is scarce, because they need to count drawers. In most stores this isn't a problem because they are reasonable or have two managers working the shift, but in some stores this leaves you with even less help than most hours. This can be a problem when you need an override, have a line of ten people, and absolutely no one will help you.

The long story short is that is absolutely depends on the store. Ask the employees how it is. Stores with high traffic and high shrink often cultivate a trustless relationship and a lot of nagging. (I did a lot of covering shifts at various stores, it's incredible how different the work environment can be)

Can be pretty bad for mental health if you feel trapped behind the counter. Most customers are nice but many are sick and hard to deal with because it's a pharmacy.

    Advice to Management

Your employees know your customers best. When they say certain coupon deals are hurting customer relationships, listen! A lot of us want to make customers' lives easier so they're easier to deal with. It's a win win. Though there were surveys that asked our opinion, none of us felt listened to beyond our home store's management.

    Pros

Experience how a real fortune 500 company operates... wait that could also go in the cons!
Employee stock purchase at a discount.

    Cons

Ruthless, be prepared to work 60+hrs a week just to maintain. Each store operates on a shoe-string budget.

    Advice to Management

A billion dollar a year company could afford to provide responsible store managers with a few extra hours, so they can attempt to have some work/life balance.

    Pros

I found the onboarding process very easy.
You have to complete a day of classroom training before you can start working in the store so you aren't going in blind.
Your trainer is always available via email to answer any questions you may have.
The discount card. As an employee, you receive 30% off CVS brand products and I think 15-20% off all other products not on sale.

    Cons

I was hired part-time and to this day, I still have not been given more than 1 day a week at MY store and for at least 3 weeks I have not been on the schedule at all. I was informed that if I want more hours, to call other stores but that is tiring and frustrating after awhile.

I did not receive any hands on training at my store (I work in the pharmacy) and then was informed that I was slow and need to improve. I learned everything that I know from other stores that I have worked at.

Some of my fellow colleagues have treated me rudely because I seem to have learned everything quicker than they did.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that if you are hiring someone, that you have hours to give them in your store.

    Pros

    Free training for pharmacy tech

    Cons

pays pharmacy tech's way lower than other pharmacies i had worked for, (KC,MO)
which resulted in a lot of people coming in for a check. Nobody took any pride in their work other than a few techs and one pharmacist. Weird work environment, some people act like it's mcdonalds so its no big deal if an order is wrong.

    Advice to Management

Pay techs more, maybe they would work harder.
