  2. It is a good company, but it has a lower pay scale for the area. It could definitely use some improvement.

    I worked at CVS Health

    Pros

The company was great at first. Benefits were good and kind of made up for the lower pay.

    Cons

Benefits became much more expensive. When job was eliminated for several people, didn't try to relocate us to other positions.

I worked at CVS Health part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The place I worked at include a lot of seasonal employees. Some were great to work with, some were a chore. In the end as long as the work gets done, everyone goes home.

    Cons

One of the assistant managers was an absolute hypocrite and immature. She did not allow the employees to speak among themselves yet she is allowed to have a "helper" follow her around to chat with. This is very common in the retail world: incompetent management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not much can be done. Work with your employees to create a better work life.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The in-store dynamic can be intricate and be a great place to work. Promotions are obtainable relatively easily. The work can be rewarding.

    Cons

The company doesn't adequately value the effort of its store employees. Time-off is an issue for many periods throughout the year. Heavy workload with skeleton budgets. Serious disconnect between company initiatives and store needs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give stores greater lee-way in merchandising practices. Let stores get back to doing their own hiring and training. Loosen the belt with budget hours. Close stores in inclement weather.

I have been working at CVS Health part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The schedule was very very flexible, I could take days off when needed. It was a great first job because they were willing to train you

    Cons

There were lots of customers, and way too few staff. We were always swamped with work, and they wouldn't hire enough people to make it easier. It was also for minimum wage, but that was to be expected for a first time job

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have enough employees in at times when more are needed. It would make the environment at work more relaxed and we wouldn;t be hurried to complete what needs to be done

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Seem to be genuinely interested in the customer and is interested in the community by removing tobacco from its store.

    Cons

Not enough personnel available to assist the customer in finding a sale item that may be out of stock or in the back and has not been put out yet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have more staff available when truck comes in so that merchandise can be placed on the shelf with minimal effort so that when the new sales are out on Sunday there is ample supply on the shelf.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Company 401k and health benefits

    Cons

The Workload is bigger than the Workforce

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have watched this company go from a great place to work with high moral to everyone wanting to leave,
Unless this is the plan this should be addressed.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great base salary with a decent bonus incentives if store is profitable and shrink is controlled.

    Cons

Each year they increase workload, add more programs, want better service, yet cut hours drastically, until you are at the point where it is only you and a cashier running the front store, with maybe a few extra people on truck day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you don't have a family, and can devote a lot of your time in the store over what is required, then this job can be a great place to work. If you have a family, this company will take a lot of your time away from them, as with such strict hour budgets, it is nearly impossible to run the store without working a lot of extra hours to compensate.
