I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Job with short commute . Girls there are very beautiful . 20% off Rogaine . VP at Avaya becomes CTO of cvs and CVS buy Avaya phones . RI two step at its best. Active active data center means two people get called when the crap they put in fails . Let's not forget windows XP and nortel VPN. Oh and custom 10-20 year old cobalt programs on mainframes .

    Cons

How about a phone system 3-4 versions behind . A fortune 10 company with digital phones . Cannot even forward calls. They still run phone cables in corporate . Ever hear of VoIP ? We have active dialup credit card lines. You have to support Obama . Cvs stands to make a ton of money from obamacare apparently . Our standard server is crap but it's what our guys know so it must be the best right. Server still run 2003 windows . Office 2007 is latest . My laptop is 5-6 years old 4 gab ram and xp. Took 9 months to get desk . Took 6 months to get VPN access. Had claim refused because I did not goto clinic instead of doctor. Cvs hired company to review every claim . They call you and ask why you went to doctor and can deny a claim if they feel you should have gone to clinic apparently . Bonus are arbitrary. If your manager doesn't like you oh well . Managers and directors are not leaders and do what the top execs want . It's a puppet kingdom where you are darned either way . It's cya 24/7 . Decisions based on ego and archaic outdated ideas. Most senior managers are not technical . My cable modem is faster than the only data link connecting data centers . 150 billion company and they balk at spending 2,000,000 to upgrade store connectivity and security. A campus parking ticket for parking in visitor lot when going between. Buildings could cost you your bonus. It hen there is collection notices that have gone out to people when they are out sick or medical leave .

    Advice to Management

Find someone who has a clue . Your luck is running out . As systems fail ( cobalt and mainframes with custom code) a crash is inevitable .

I worked at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team spirit amongst employees. Everyone is hard working, helpful, and supportive.

    Cons

Absolutely no organizational efficiencies: which leads to extreme excess of emails, long lead times for even the simplest project, and employees taking on 2 jobs with the same demanding deadlines. The systems are so poor it is impossible to get accurate information easily. NO work life balance. The greed of the company outweighs doing what is right for the business.

    Advice to Management

Reorganize your organization allowing employees to be empowered to get their job done (vs 4 people doing separate parts of one job). This will not only allow for faster reaction to business needs but also give your employees a better balance (reduced emails, reduced mistakes, reduced hours spent). In turn you will have staff solely to handle acquisitions/project initiatives to the fullest vs juggling a min of 2 roles and 18 hour days. One last comment: you are all about health however the mental health of your employees do not come first.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

10 to 20 percent employee discount PTO 15 days 401 k plan Health insurance plan is ok Nothing more to say

    Cons

Worst management ever! Supply chain team just believes in politics. Everything is old school approach . No new technology. Super long working hours. Bad old systems to work on. IT support is laid back. Most people from DC and don't want to experiment with new tech ! No work from home. make you come to office even during the worst snow storm. They just don't care about employee . There is no good budgeting done on projects.Cvs has just got the name by default! Would not recommend anyone.

    Advice to Management

    Less politics please

I have been working at CVS Health full-time

    Pros

Neighborhood store with many regulars and staff the usually consists of local community people.

    Cons

It's just an awful company that cuts every penny from their employees but then tells us it's not worth checking a price for a customer just change it for them because it may cause a line and besides it only a couple bucks. Then during your yearly review you got a nice 2.5% raise coming to save on expenses. Every company tries to save money CVS just does it to a different level.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with your staff, stop announcing visits and surprise stores to get an actual idea of what the store is like.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pay and bonuses are slightly above average. Very top heavy company, so plenty of opportunity to become one of dozens and dozens of senior managers.

    Cons

Work life balance is abysmal. Positions go unfilled for long periods of time while already over worked people cover. Shameful practice that has become commonplace. Very top heavy company with treacherous political environment at the HQ. Overall awful company to work for.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Importance of customer service, the staff, the benifits, practices

    Cons

Not enough hours given to staff to the needs of the store, no home life everything revolved around CVS needs, never got to take my vacation & it's like they didn't care, nothing was ever good enough no matter what you did or how many hours you put in

    Advice to Management

Look elsewhere this company only cares about CVS they drag their GM's through hell and back and don't care to either.

    Pros

    Too much money to invest

    Cons

Workaholic culture, Leadership is non-existence, treat people like dogs and make them work weekend and evening. If you want to work here, forget your personal life. Culture is all about putting blame on others. Wants to innovate like Fortune 10 but processes and red tape get in the way every single day

    Advice to Management

Get leaders to know introduce change management, lead organizations, treat people with respect and drive growth for the business.

    Pros

In IT, not any really. People are in cya mode all of the time. Constant back stabbing.

    Cons

Management is horrible. Unorganized. Only worried about how they look outside of IT. Understaffed. Chasing people out left and right. Won't spend money. Old technology and slow to implement new.

    Advice to Management

You only care about bottom line and are willing to burn through people. Whatever you might think about how bad things may seem, they are 100 times worse. If you looked into the weeds, you won't like what you aee.
