    Pros

Coworkers seem nice, pay was decent, company seems to be expanding and making money, so the company isn't going anywhere.

    Cons

Terrible training with training classes that occur each month due to high turnover. No real leadership or willingness to train new hires, more of a trial by fire. Big company feel where you're just a number and there are no exceptions to their rules. GLAD I AM NOT THERE!

    Pros

Good salary, good benefits, bonus, most employees are good to work with , training and mentoring programs are available, company discounts for employees. Great Company for aggressive corporate climbers.

    Cons

If you want to do your job but your job is not your life steer clear. Your life is not your own, expected to work evenings and weekends, management team is as inconsistent as they are demanding. A pat on the back can quickly change to a slap on the head.

    Advice to Management

Become more consistent, treat every individual regardless of status with respect. Fear and cash are only short term motivations, real job satisfaction comes with respect for the individual and their day to day contributions.

    Pros

Great bonus's. Co-workers were great and my first manager was awesome. Second manager wanted to sit in his office with his feet up and play on the Internet.

    Cons

No work/life balance and management is incompetent. New manager did not take the time to learn any of his team roles.

    Advice to Management

Do some cleanup on the managers that are not willing to be an active participant in the team and mentor.

    Pros

Short commute, stable employment, subsidized healthy food

    Cons

Promotions are very subjective and not based on skill but rather on how much you kiss up to your manager. Work is overly-demanding, regularly working 50+ hours. Difficult to take vacation. Paycheck only once a month.

    Advice to Management

Hire enough employees to do the work. Train managers to be managers.

    Pros

Top three pro's in my eyes, the people (employees), the discount and the charity classic. Sad to say after working for this company for over 15 yrs

    Cons

Lack of leadership/management, favoritism (employees being promoted with out jobs even being posted for everyone to bid on), NO work load balance (some being buried more than others), awful review process at end of year, way to many chiefs not enough indians doing the work, costly health insurance for being a company who pries themselves on helping people live longer healthier lives.

    Advice to Management

It all starts at the top...please engage in making things better for the people who are still working there. Listen to the Engagement Survey and push for change as this is the only opportunity we have to voice our opinions and we feel no one is listening. Please enforce a rule where all jobs must be posted internally EVEN if someone is already in mind for the job. Lastly, bring back TOM RYAN!

    Pros

its a great place to work for if you do not have a job , better then being homeless

    Cons

work environment can be stressful, rotating hours, they place you into their schedule when they need you, almost no freedom to when you can go into work, changing shifts is a big hassle here, not very flexible. your just a number here.

    Advice to Management

the management is not very good here, its ok at best. they need to work on people who have more on their skill set to move up in the company instead of wasting there time keeping them hostage in a position they do not belong.

    Pros

The company seems very stable and you don't need to worry about layoffs. Nice subsidized cafeteria. The technology in IT promotes a great learning ground. If you can survive a year in IT, you can look for another position inside the company and there are always openings.

    Cons

The pay is lower in Woonsocket/Cumberland, RI, not much negotiating, benefits are expensive. Mytime is not ideal, tip - negotiate for as much vacation as you can. Getting into IT Management seems much easier than at other companies and therefore, managers are less experienced. (May just be my observation from a more myopic viewpoint of my own larger team.) The commute can be very much more trafficky than you may expect as there is really one way in and one way out of the industrial park near One CVS Drive. Many of the people who work in IT are obligated to the company; due to this, others take advantage. They squeeze as much of your time as they can get and there's no way to say no, Application Managers in IT are constantly pushing for more. Work life balance is not a balance at all...

    Advice to Management

Think about Market Basket, treat your employees better... Seriously, there needs to be a huge shift in how employees in IT are treated.

    Pros

My coworkers were one of the only pros at this job. The health benefits are also top notch. The new plans are high deductible, but that's not their fault.

    Cons

Management is always changing. Management is controlling and will backdoor you to make themselves look better. CVS management in this department does not care about employees, only money. You get a raise every April. You're lucky if you get a 2% raise. Work/life balance is unmanageable because all you want to do when you get out of work is sleep or drink. This is a high stress job with NO room for advancement. They would rather hire people outside of the company for supervisor and manager positions than promote someone from within. The turn around rate is severe. They expect top notch customer service out of you, and if you provide anything less you are belittled. The supervisors are all catty. They will throw you under the bus for no reason if they have any reason to not like you. They do this because they also hate their jobs. No one likes working for this call center. But, they do because it's a job.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so catty! Appreciate your employees more and maybe the turn around rate won't be so high. Throwing a few pot lucks and expecting the employees to provide all of the food and entertainment is not OK. Stop promoting from the outside. Learn to appreciate the few good agents that are actually left before they leave.
