    Bad for employees

Programmer Manager (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsCommunication sector is a good sector to work for and the company has a nimble footed management

ConsThe company makes frequent changes to executive management and as a result strategies do not get implemented. The company has very poor HR policies and practices. The company treats employees very poorly and does not present equal opportunities for all. The company does not listen to any third party opinion thereby taking wrong decisions

Advice to Senior ManagementThe frequent changes affect employee morale significantly.

    Worst company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Bangalore (India)

ProsNothing at all to write about..

Consonly way to get growth/ hike: get close to manger. dont have to work, dont even have to come to office. Once in a while come to office just to complain about others. spy on every one else and spread rumours. Steal somebody else's ideas and boast about it as if it is yours, for the rest of your tenure at the company. If you dont have any such qualities and are good only in working hard, this company is not the place for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo use of giving advice..

The workforce have lost faith in the senior management and are worn down by the terrible culture

    Project Manager (Current Employee)

ProsThere are some great managers dotted around the company, and if you are lucky enough to work for one, then life is much better.

    Brand is still strong.

ConsPeople work in silos, everyone concentrates on just keeping to their job spec, rather than about doing the best for our customers.

The company structure is very complex, its hard finding out how to get anything done. Its a wonder anything happens.

Systems are very old and are awful to use.

Very political environment, where it is all so easy to just launch another change initiative, with a new senior manager, and yet somehow it all ends up the same.

People are worried about keeping their jobs the whole time, as opposed to doing their job well.

No bonus payouts and limited salary rises

Like a corporate remake of Apocalypse Now

    Client Manager (Former Employee)

    ProsGood badge/brand
Still some good people in the business
    Amazingly lax Corporate Card policy/culture

    ConsHighly politicized middle management
Completely out of touch senior management
Network starved of investment and at capacity
Products and pricing completely out of kilter with market
    No client focus whatsoever
    Constant changes of management direction
    Appalling HR review process
Finance holds complete sway over everything
A company of a thousand private empires
    Very poor commission scheme
    Staff morale very low
You'll feel like Captain Willard every morning

Advice to Senior ManagementA strange air of unreality exists in most areas - the staff simply don't believe the hype anymore. You've lost the faith of the employees. Ignore the shareholders for a moment, and stop changing things - let it settle, invest in your people, and most of all; stop lying to them!

Working at C&W was an interesting experience in witnessing how it's entirely possible to destroy a company from within using just demoralisation. The offshoring, the redundancies, the pay freezes, the under-staffing, the lack of investment, and the almost constant barrage of seemingly irrelevant missives from the ivory towers. The bullying management style up top pervades down through every crevice of the organisation. I've never been in or near a company so utterly dysfunctional as C&WW.

Relaxed Place to work, however at the same time hectic when issues crop up

Service Manager (Former Employee) Bangalore (India)

ProsFlexible Timings - Salary - Less Work Pressure - Easy going - Good work location - Good work life balance

ConsSilly HR policies - visionless senior management - Lazy collegaues - Process slaves - most activities Peaople dependent than Process dependent - too many South Indians - No cultural diversity - partiality shown towards boastful employees - No intergrity in terms of services provided to customers - solution implemented is not the solution proposed and agreed.

Advice to Senior ManagementPlease look for substance, than style in employees. Have a clear vision in terms of what you want to do - stop selling solutions which you know you cant provide, implement and support.

    Management Team Driven By Greed

    Client Manager (Current Employee)

ProsThe employees are the heart of any organisation and the staff in C&W are some of the best I have ever encountered.

It is a pity that the mangement team do not recognise this fact.

ConsContinuous change of personnel and roles.
Leadership team focussed on maximising personal wealth and focussed on short term growth in order to release bonus payments.
Continuous redundancies to drive down cost and create short term gain in profitability.... to meet the city and shareholders expectations and release executive bonus payments
Unrealistic targets with complex metrics and staggered payments

Advice to Senior ManagementThe continued decline in resource while continuing to drive new business will lead to customer churn as the existing resource is stretched to capacity serving both the existing and new customers. This will result in a degradation of customer service and high employee churn.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
