    Horrible upper management!

Technical Support Representative Tier II (Former Employee)
    Shelton, CT

ProsGreat benefits. Great health, dental and vision. And free Phone, TV and Internet if you are in the service area. Also a lot of discounts in many places, with monthly discounts for almost any major cell phone providers. Good physical work environment that is clean and bright.

ConsHorrible upper management. Managers micromanage to the point that they interfere with your everyday life. Inter-departmental communication is none existing. One department gets information while the other is left in the dark. Customer becomes irate when they speak to multiple departments and gets multiple answers.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of all managers that have been in the same position for more than 5 years. They are too set in their ways and when something new comes down the pipes, they have no idea how to explain or teach anything new or different.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Company was great to work with, then the micro managing began.

    Residential Account Representative (Former Employee)

ProsGreat benefits, pension and matching 401k. Your health insurance is covered day one.

ConsThey now GPS track you through company owned iPads. Commission has been decreased by $40,000 and over. Yes that a subtraction from what we earned from the previous years. Very inconsistent managing style. No compensation for travel/gas expenses.

Advice to Senior ManagementScale back the size of the sales offices, 30 people are too many for the territories assigned.

Its an 0k job if you don't need to feel valued and don't mind being just a number

    Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)

ProsDecent pay, benefits & free cable. Mostly a good bunch of people who help each other.

ConsMicro management is beyond excessive. Everything you do is recorded, rated & scored by a system that is not at all an equal playing field. The reps at my call center are what I would consider as a consumer, to be pretty professional. But that does not stop us from almost always failing in our scores for not following the script. Holidays are not rotated. Supervisors are not coaching & supporting their reps to succeed. Alot of what you are doing "wrong" and really no positive feedback.I could go on but will end with the fact that most reps do not enjoy being here.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the micro management and treat us with some "value"

    Broadcast Engineer (Current Employee)
    New York, NY

Prosyearly salary increases, bonus, overtime, up to 4 weeks vacation

ConsToo many middle managers, poor decision making, very poor guidance for future growth

Advice to Senior ManagementShift focus to programming and exclusive content. Increase bandwidth at reduced cost.

I grew up and became an adult in Cablevision

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

Prosa pleasant location close to home for most employees, with a nice benefit package, good for one income in a 2 income household

Conswe had a difficult to grow environment, although the uppermost management were creative visionaries, the managrment teams put in place were not.

neutral company is definitely not for everyone

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBenefits are great & several of the employees are excellent to work with

ConsVery political & this can hinder progress toward goals. As many good employees the company has there are also several employees who are very challenging to work with and hinder productivity.

IF YOU LIKE WORKING OUTSIDE IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER

    Residential Account Executive (Former Employee)
    Oakland, NJ

ProsGreat Benefits on day one, Free Coffee, Potential to make a lot of money.

ConsThe hours are 12:00-9:00PM and you will be knocking on doors, unannounced trying to win back customers who left us for FIOS, DISH, or Direct-TV. Micro-management by your supervisors. It is a very difficult sale, since people that left Cablevision do not want to come back even if offered cable for free.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to what your people are telling you in the field.
