    Wasn't the Best

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsBeneftits are good and you will learn alot

ConsOverworked and under paid. If you are coming into this company your best bet is to ask for what you really want from early. Raises are about 50-60 cent every year.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to your employees and try to fight for your staff. Brooklyn employees are not bad employees they just want to br treated fairly which isn't unreasonable.

Insane owner with no skills is killing this company and there is nothing we can do about it.

    Director (Current Employee)
    Bethpage, NY

    ProsThe customers and free cable.

ConsJim Dolan is a idiot born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He has no skills or vision and makes terrible decisions( see the Knicks, also) He is such a tyrant that he must surround himself with "yes" people. People would rather make the wrong decision for the business if they believe that is what Jim wants.

Advice to Senior ManagementRide the horse till it dies, or convince Jim to sell

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Complete lack of Direction, Poor Integration

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    Billings, MT

ProsPaycheck shows up on time, Free cable and Internet access, work is not very demanding at all.

ConsProjects cancelled all over the place, then reopened, then cancelled again. No direction from management. Communication between management layers is non existent. Very little chance for promotion. Anything involving managerial approval take 5 times as long as it would under normal circumstances.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou have some extremely talented internal people, but the structure of your company makes it impossible for them to help you. Do more to develop your internal talent, and trust them.

Hard to find positives after several years here

    Direct Sales Representative (Current Employee)
    Piscataway, NJ

ProsFree cable, phone and Internet. Good benefits program, facilities are maintained well.

ConsManagement is not trustworthy, makes promises then doesn't deliver. When you bring it up, you get scolded to the side. They are constantly decreasing compensation and changing it to benefit their bottom line, while trying to show us how it's better for us. It just never is. The management team is sensitive to any resistance by the employees, and the product is subpar. We don't have channels that are core to a cable provider and rely way too heavily on unmotivated contractors to execute work orders.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet employees to do the work, not contractors and stick to a pay plan. When you keep reducing the pay plan every few months, it just kills the morale. Stop telling us to go out and work on our days off while you guys are home and not taking our calls,

Very difficult to make sales with an average closing ratio of 7-10%

    Sales Representative (Current Employee)
    Oakland, NJ

ProsExcellent benefits that start a day one when your hired.

ConsWork day is from 12:00PM-9:00PM. Customers that you're trying to win back from FIOS, Direct-TV and DISH, really hate Cablevision and won't come back even if you gave the service for free. A lot of micro-management by your supervisor. You need a minimum of 7 triple win back sales per month or you're fired. Very few Reps are successful and are with the company for years.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to what Reps are saying and act. Don't think you know everything, saying we have done this for years and we've been successful. Well...you could be more successful by listening to imput from various Reps.

    Director (Current Employee)
    Bethpage, NY

    ProsGood benefits
    Great location
    Interesting business issues

    ConsTerrible Senior Management team
Management is by "crisis", no recognition
Must be on-call and ready to work 24x7x365
Lack of staffing, means Directors often with no supervisors or managers
HR Department is a puppet for Senior Management

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate an independant HR department to annually interview Management employees to identify terrible senior managers
    Very limited advancement opportunities
Centralize all IT groups, IT in the Business groups does not work
