Cablevision should give more opportunities to their employees.

Sales Operations Analyst (Current Employee) Piscataway, NJ

ProsThe give benefits the first day you start and pricing is very reasonable

ConsThey only give minimal raise and do not have much room for growth. Management gives unreasonable expectations which then they make you will like you can not do youre job correctly. If you do not go above and beyond every single day a employee will seem like they are not trying hard enough. I feel that cablevision managerment runs around in circles trying to do the same thing and never improving. Departaments also do not work together it's always a power struggle to get what needs to get done.

Advice to Senior ManagementOffer more job opportunties for individuals that are willing to grow and learn.

    Great for benefits and pay

Technical Support Representative Tier III (Current Employee) Shelton, CT

ProsAs a tech support rep III and after almost 6 years, I resigned, to look for other opportunities. Has good pay, great benefits and free TV, Phone and Internet if within footprint.

ConsYou have to learn to pick and choose which leads and supervisors can help you. Support can sometimes be limited. As a rep III at time I knew more then the leads or sups but because of level of access to tools I had to reach out to useless leads or sups and questioned med every step of the way. Just help me help the customer!!! Is our job!!

Advice to Senior ManagementWork environment can be better. Promote the right people to lead or supervisors, at times it just seems fixed the way some people have been promoted.

Its an 0k job if you don't need to feel valued and don't mind being just a number

    Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)

ProsDecent pay, benefits & free cable. Mostly a good bunch of people who help each other.

ConsMicro management is beyond excessive. Everything you do is recorded, rated & scored by a system that is not at all an equal playing field. The reps at my call center are what I would consider as a consumer, to be pretty professional. But that does not stop us from almost always failing in our scores for not following the script. Holidays are not rotated. Supervisors are not coaching & supporting their reps to succeed. Alot of what you are doing "wrong" and really no positive feedback.I could go on but will end with the fact that most reps do not enjoy being here.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the micro management and treat us with some "value"

Broadcast Engineer (Current Employee) New York, NY

Prosyearly salary increases, bonus, overtime, up to 4 weeks vacation

ConsToo many middle managers, poor decision making, very poor guidance for future growth

Advice to Senior ManagementShift focus to programming and exclusive content. Increase bandwidth at reduced cost.

Not a bad place to be.

Advanced Support Representative (Current Employee) Melville, NY

ProsHours, Pay, Benefits, Free Cable/phone/internet, Ability to advance quickly. Fun environment, always running an event for the staff during their shift.

ConsIt's a call center, and you have to have it in you to stay attached to your desk some days 4-5 hours straight depending on call volume.
