    Pros

Good company, great benefits, pay structure is average, holiday bonus, investment opportunities, and parties are great motivators. Internal opportunities are great, (if not intercepted). The core-foundation of the company is very good.

    Cons

High-School like behaviors amongst supervisors/managers and above (some). Bullying - type of environment, gossipy, sabotage and misery is infectious and evident throughout some departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Cablevision Systems full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits leadership change recently caused employee recognition much better

    Cons

Certain rotten apples exist and tend to subdue creativity hopefully they will be eliminated shortly from the system

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Filter out the rotten apples as they have the wrong customer service version! Getting to know the customer better by engaging in small talk is considered call avoidance and hence reason for termination! How will one survive here?

Constant restructuring takes it toll on loyalty and morale

I worked at Cablevision Systems full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Cablevision is highly motivated to advance their product offerings in a highly competitive marketplace. To maintain or increase market share, Cablevision needs to dispense with old-school thinking regarding what they *think* customers want and look at the data they have available to them. Some groups within Cablevision are doing this more effectively than others. Good benefits, decent vacation, some nice perks.

    Cons

Dysfunctional management and constant restructuring leaves many people in fear for their jobs, resulting in lower productivity and a real morale problem. Those in the ivory towers don't see it (or don't want to acknowledge it). Too many talented people have been let go in the course of trying out half-baked org structures led by people whose only 'talent' seems to be their ability to intimidate.
