    Pros

    California casualty is a great company to work for. Strong support from management. They respect and value employees and policy holders. It's a privilege to work with people who serve our communities.

    Pros

    This is a wonderful company that is dedicated to its customers, employees, and bottom line (in that order). The most important aspect of business at CalCas is to treat the customer (insured) with honesty and respect. Employees are treated like family at California Casualty. An employees' safety is paramount. California Casualty knows and lives the philosophy, "if you take care of others, they will in return, take care of you". It is one thing to hear a company "talk" about putting customers and employees first; it is another thing to experience the words put into action. Existing employees are excited to welcome new hires and offer help at every turn. The work environment feels inclusive and optimistic. I can't say enough great things about California Casualty!

    Cons

    Honestly, none that I can think of.......I've been working here about 5 months so far.

    Pros

    The leadership and training with this company are unlike any other I have worked for. The management team is absolutely fantastic and work with they work with your personal schedule and professional schedule. The CEO of the company not only comes to say hi but knows us all by first name, a true family owned business that employees have pride in.

    Cons

    Some late nights and weekends, but that's where the potential for money is!

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing, I have never been happier wiht a job.

    Pros

    Work/life balance is a hot topic now amongst the workforce. This is just one of the advantages of working for Cal Cas. The work week is 37.5 hours and we are closed most major Holidays. There are lots of tenured employees; the average tenure of a customer service representative is a little over 15 years. To some, this may be seen as a limit of growth opportunity. However, as long as you have a solid development plan in place and a good foundation; when an opportunity becomes available you can secure it as long as you don't let it pass you by. There is truly a family atmosphere amongst everyone; we all care for one another on a professional and personal level! Our customer base is also one built amongst professionals so that leads to a better customer experience for all!

    If you are looking for a positive, significant & rewarding change in your career life - then check out Cal Cas! This will be the best decision of your professional path and growth!

    Pros

    I have never worked for a company where the CEO walks around and speaks to EVERY employee and remembers them by name! My direct manager coaches me daily and is always full of positive feedback. The atmosphere is so warm and it's as if we are all a family! This is a job I wish I would of landed years ago!!!

    Keep doing what you are doing! Everyone learns at different levels and keep that in mind when you are coaching.

    Pros

    I’ve worked at California Casualty for 3 years. One of the things I just love about working here is they really care about you. The management takes a personal interest in all of us and they are always showing us how much we are appreciated. That is such a rare find in a company today. The CEO, Beau Brown, regularly comes to our facility and personally takes the time to talk to everyone individually. It’s that kind of personal touch they show every single day that makes it a special place to work. They have assembled an amazing group of people that truly care about this company and our customers, myself being one of them.

    Cons

    The only con I could come up with is that we are a little behind the times as far as technology goes. They have made huge strides in that since I started but we still have a long ways to go.

    Advice to Management

    My manager is amazing but they all work very hard to help you in every way possible. My manager is Victor Vola and anyone who has the opportunity to work for him is very fortunate. My advice is keep up the great work and thank you for all you do!

    Amazing company to have worked for. I am so impressed at leadership and their ability to put their values in to action!

    Supervisor was in a Cubicle, so if there was anything negative to talk about you had to go to a room, so you always knew if the conversation was going to be negative.

    Pros

    The people I work with are the best group of people. The Company cares about it's employees and that's the kind of culture we have at CCMC. The work-life balance and flexibility are outstanding.

    Cons

    Technology is not cutting edge -- it is after all an insurance company. The ability to move up in the organization is more limited as we are not a large organization and those opportunities do not present themselves very often.

    Advice to Management

    It would be great to have the ability to telecommute on a regular basis.

    I've worked at California Casualty for 14 years and it has been a great experience. No company is perfect, but what I can say is that the company really cares about its customers AND employees. There is a lot of tenure in the organization with many employees working here 20+ years. The executives are great. Most know and interact with employees regularly. The Chairman and CEO, Beau Brown, literally knows everyone here by name. Seriously, where are you going to find that at another company? This truly is a family and I'm proud to be a part of it.

    Cons

    Because we are a small company, promotional opportunities are slim. However, the company does try to find ways to grow you in your position with challenging assignments, projects, etc. Also, we tend to try and fix our IT systems internally, because they were created internally. I think we could do better, by improving our technology with something we didn't create ourselves.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to communicate with the employees about the company vision and strategy. I love hearing how we all contribute to the bottom line.

    Pros

    I honestly feel like the company cares about me, as an individual. My manager is so very helpful, and focuses on the positive. The customers are amazing, and so friendly. My co-workers are like family. I do not feel on edge here, and for the first time in years, I actually look forward to going to work.
