    Pros

it is a good company for job security because it is a family styled company that plays buddy system, making sure you please your boss and eat out with him/her few times a week and you will be fine, this company has a high tolerance to accept failures !! it's good for people looking for paycheck twice a month but take no risk suggesting new ideas and initiatives for the benefit of the company's future.

    Cons

management promote people close to to them but not to people far away from them even they can greatly benefiting the company, Most middle management are not entirely honest in the company and they care more about their persoanl agenda than the company. They generally do not see far ahead in business and have very limited foreign experience. Senior management relies too much on middle management and have caused many failures in business projects. effiiciency of this company is very low; it is common to see people/ groups covering up mistakes or failures,

    Advice to Management

eliminating family members or friends in the company and focus on using others with applicable skills that can bring in immediate results, the key is to hire the right and the very best person for job and not the closest friend - it's easy to say but very seldom done in this company,

    Cons

once you hit a certain level, there is less opportunity for growth and movement

    Advice to Management

continue to work towards improving the consistency among management. Many policies are at the discretion of particular managers and there are some inconsistencies.

    Pros

Great work/life balance. Newly created building looks great. Great location close to Philly. Team environment creates atmosphere for cross-functional sharing.

    Cons

A lot of meetings create a lot of grind. Decisions are made through consensus, not single authority. People don't stay in roles more than 2 -3 years.

    Advice to Management

Would like to see more risk-taking from management. Need to be leaders in markets, instead of fast-followers.

    Pros

competitive salary, friendly colleagues, easy commute from Philadelphia (against traffic!), forward thinking company, stable company, flexible, reasonable. Also, my department was very trustworthy. They allow you to work from home when you want/need to. As long as your work gets completed, they're not concerned about where you work. That's very important to me.

    Cons

Some senior executives, while nice, are very behind the times. Working in Camden isn't exactly idea, but the company has done the best it can with a bad situation. The city is really lousy, but Campbells has really made the work environment as nice as they can to help make you forget that it's a bit lousy beyond the borders of the office campus. But still, I'd rather work in Philly where colleagues go out for a drink after work and socialize. That's a big benefit of working in an office that I missed while I worked there.

    Advice to Management

More attention could be paid to employee moral levels. I know this wasn't the norm, but for a while I was miserable because I worked with someone who was a complete idiot. I mean, mind blowing stupid. But the company invested too much money to get them to the company to acknowledge they messed up, so the moral for the rest of the department dropped dramatically. There was very little I could do about it though. Anonymous peer reviews would have been wonderful. Also, the reviews that are meant for employees to rate their managers is a bit silly. It's a god idea, but especially for small departments it doesn't work well. I know of a past manager (who has since left the company) who pressured their employees to give them top marks on those reviews.

I feel like I can make an impact in the processes, comunication and the way of doing business. Campbells management is open to ideas about how to get better, cut the red tape and be a more flexible company.

    Cons

There is a fair amount of red tape and everybody wants to get consensus

    Advice to Management

Find the resources to get things done.

    Pros

The leadership under CEO Doug Conant was wonderful. He was warm, he seemed to care, and he drove the company with his Leadership Model. Employee services were improved dramatically during his tenure. On-site empoyee credit union, gym, daycare, cafeteria, company store, and even a drop-off/pick-up location for dry cleaning!

    Cons

The paths for advancement are not made clear. The employees who are there have been there forEVER and the only visible chance for advancement is when someone retires.

    Advice to Management

Rather than simply telling people they have done their job satisfactorily, go out of your way to find things they did well and recognize them. Encourage them to aspire for more and not to spend 30 yrs wasting away in the same position.
