I have been working at Canadian Natural full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Canadian Natural is a good place to start your carreer. It is still developing which will give you lots of opportunities to improve. It has generous vacations time and it provides a secured job.

    Cons

There is no standard practice accross the company. One division may execute the project with totally different approach than others. But this is expected as the company is still growing.

I worked at Canadian Natural full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Stock options on hiring are good. Salaries and benefits are reasonable. Staff are kept busy, and the more you're willing to do, the more you'll be given.

    Cons

Many of the roles are narrow and deep. Therefore staff get bored and tend to change jobs every few years. It is a command and control company, with the standard share of bullies in management. It is a big company trying to operate like a small one - sometimes it works and frequently causes unnecessary problems.

    Pros

    Nice people
    Focused
    Flat Organization Structure
    Honest, hardworking company
You know the VPs, they are usually on the same floor, quire quite personable :-)

    Cons

Be prepared for long wait times on expense claims, approvals and hiring new staff.
Can't hire top-notch staff because it takes so long. In the meantime, everyone is burning out from waiting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are more pluses than minuses at CNRL. Streamline some of your procedures.
I.e. does it make sense to have people line up in the lobby area to get their ticket for a social function? Especially a company this size?
