    Pros

Benefits are phenomenal (medical, dental, etc) Life paid for Monday-Thursday Work within the practice is challenging, engaging and clients appreciate input

    Cons

HR in this business unit is atrocious. Little communication in general, lack of knowledge regarding training schedule. Culture (as at most large consulting firms) is lacking, not much room for networking within the organization unless you really put yourself out there.

    Advice to Management

    Improve HR, enhance culture.

    Pros

Lots of travelling and meeting with interesting people of all walks; exposure to some of the largest companies, complex multi-tier, high-volume computer software and systems; decent pay when combined with per diem; lots of opportunities to network with clients and other vendors.

    Cons

Overly large company; working conditions and 'colleagues' vary greatly depending on the project you are on. At a project in Asia with French project managers, they had dinners and outings that were "French only"; non-French were left out. At another with Swedish, everyone was invited. Almost no management: I had a performance review done by someone 2000 miles away and we had never met or talked before or known each other!

    Advice to Management

There needs to be some kind of consistency across the company; more opportunities to move up or laterally; better pay.

    Pros

Great opportunities to learn and advance your career through an extended catalog of online courses to take. A lot of friendly people who are willing to help you out if you ask.

    Cons

It can be tough to move up within the company unless you really stand out from everyone else. There will be very long days and nights. The bonuses are not very good.

    Advice to Management

Better bonuses and career advancement opportunities.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You'll get the opportunity to learn a plethora of professional development skills, including in-house training and on-the-job mentoring. Projects and clients are very good. Compensation is not bad, but not great overall. The company has high overhead so despite making high revenues (with above industry-par CM), org-level OM is just about 10%. Maybe leadership will focus on this next.

    Cons

Performance rating system is not structured well and can be improved a lot. Please look at Microsoft and Accenture as examples in this area. North America market needs more penetrative sales strategy, as most US clients are cost-focussed and tend to go away to low-cost options such as Cognizant and TCS without realizing how it may hurt their overall TCO. Need to give more options to clients and sell the TCO effectively, explore the profit-sharing billing as an option. Maybe with recent acquisition of IGate, these would happen over next few months. Improve variable compensation components in the form of quarterly rewards etc.

    Advice to Management

Please focus more on improving NA sales strategy.

    Pros

management has turned over a couple times and my only experience is with the current regime. Nice people who like to keep morale up by doing happy hours and company events, so there isn't much to complain about.

    Cons

Hours could be more flexible with start and quitting times.

  9. Great Learning environment, be prepared to work though

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Cutting edge work Good salary Freshers have good opportunity to get accelerated learning in new technologies and rapid development methodologies Solid benefits Great if you like to travel since most will not live at client site

    Cons

Be prepared to work a lot of hours. This is most definitely not a 40 hour work week Be comfortable with travel You may not stay working in the same technologies from project to project

    Advice to Management

Many get burned out working minimum 50-hour and often 60+ hour work weeks. It isn't sustainable. However, keep up the good work in other areas. There is a reason Cap is growing so quickly.
