    Pros

Salary and benefits are decent. Self directed training opportunities are available to enhance skills. Potential opportunities to work in many different areas and markets. Intelligent, experienced co-workers.

    Cons

Political as with any large, global firm. Decisions are not always made based upon the best solution. Some of the management place their own interests and career progression above that of the collective group.

    Pros

Capgemini is a huge company with hundreds of divisions, groups, teams, etc. If you can find a good manager and a good customer then the experience will be satisfying. I've had the blessing of working in a great situation for many years.
I'm allowed to work from home 4 days a week. The pay, time off, flexible schedule, and overall benefits are great.

    Cons

Capgemini is a huge company and there will always be people still hanging around whom should have left years ago.
If you want to grow in your career you will have to put 99.99% of the effort in. Capgemini's outsourcing division does not mentor employees or seek to grow and promote them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR transparency needs to be real, not a smoke and mirrors game. Star employees should be valued, not just given a number on a review once a year.
Figure out how to work within the various divisions, business units, and geographies. Stop acting like 100 different companies with the same logo.

Capgemini India TS - Good Company - But not very location agnostic in India

I have been working at Capgemini full-time

    Pros

    *Flexibility
    *Work Life Balance
*Independence, as long as commitments are met
*Good packages if you bargain well

    Cons

*Moving between locations in India is a problem, as locations are managed by different business units - makes you think if it is really correct when you say it is one company in India.
*Growth is also problem if you are not at local head office.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All locations of a company in India/any country should be accessible to all employees and not BU/Division wise. After all we do our work via PCs, Phones and network connectivity - and this is our first pitch when we say distributed delivery- and it logically doesn't make sense to restrict within one country when there is available workspace. May be a central location management entity could solve this

    Pros

Good place, no grey areas. It's a perform and flourish scene.

    Cons

Too many people, so promotions need to be fought for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Investment in people's learning tracks and professional experiences, team-building and career-scaping through endless opportunities (certiciates, ...), good package but a not so great company car. Wonderful, bright and positive colleagues. Nobody's a number. There can be exciting projects at the clients' end. Great local infrastructure. No complaints there...

    Cons

Company culture an be too conservative. Company car policy is a sad piece of work. Some employee benefits are not even of this century. If you want to get the young, brave and willing smart ones on board, refactor the offering. If you want to keep the go-getters, offer what the competition is offering them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The layer between what's perceived as "juniors" and what you call "seniors" or even "managers" can be really thin. When people perform beyond their gradses, don't make them scream and shout in order to have reconciliation. Some candy here and there he;ps.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very open environment with opportunities for those looking to learn, be proactive, drive your career towards your personal goals. A lot of learning and training materials made available openly for employees. Ranging from technical, process, PM, etc. Generous PTO and benefits packages. Very strong thought leaders in areas of process and service management. Offshore delivery centers are top notch.

    Cons

Requires you to manage your own career and make it happen. You are expected to be a business professional and provide customers top service while also managing your own career. This is as expected, but some may not like this hands-off approach. Organizational communications have traditionally been weak, but in 2014 big push to improve. Could do better at driving innovation in tools used at enterprise level as well as at consultant level (laptop spec).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership styles vary widely between service lines. Understand who you are reporting to, their approach and how you fit into the larger organization.
