    Overall, great place to work!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Tulsa, OK

ProsPay, benefits, overall advancement opportunities, culture is awesome, great values and most management live the corporate values.

ConsFrequent leadership changes, occasional inconsistent management decisions.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't try to change something if it isn't broken and if something is changed, make it better for the customer and associates. Utilize talent where available

Positive feedback as a former Capital One Auto Finance position

Funding Analyst (Former Employee) Plano, TX

ProsThe pros were the extensive training and the ability to work independently with no supervision as well as with a team. I believe my outstanding drive, loyalty to the company, and an impeccable work ethic allowed me to shine as a terrific asset to the company. My co-workers and upper management thoroughly impressed me with their knowledge and willingness to make sure we all strived to the best of our abilities.

ConsI would have to say the most dissatisfaction I felt with the Capital One team was the lack of promotions throughout the company. With such an enormous turn over rate, instead of letting hard working employees move up in the company, move them to another department where they can benefit the company the best way fit, instead were let go.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy advise to the company would be to screen managers a bit more in detail. I do not listen to gossip but from training on, was told my manager was the newest and was never around. Being in management before, I knew some people not might quite understand all the duties the manager has and felt with all the negativity surrounding the situation, my best interest was to focus on work and not make opinions on what others have said. It's nor professional nor beneficial to production and team morale.

    Rewarding.

Risk Coordinator (Former Employee) Plano, TX

ProsThe compensation is actually on the lower side of the competition. Aside from that, the benefits are great and the company itself is always striving for change which can keep it interesting.

ConsThere is high turnover in collections and the atmosphere isn't the best.

Great experience and great company to work for.

    Assistant Relationship Manager (Former Employee)

ProsThis is a very employee oriented company. There are a lot of opportunities to move up quickly. Great work-life balance. Great benefits and work culture.

ConsThe salary is not the best when compared with competitors (other banks). There are not many opportunities with this company outside of Texas and Virginia.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to allow employees the opportunity to grow and maintain a positive culture within the company.

Data Oriented Culture with really smart people.

Senior Manager (Former Employee) Plano, TX

ProsPuts an emphasis on hiring smart people - definitely leans to more mathematical intelligence than interpersonal/innovation.

ConsVery model driven to the extent that other opportunities for improvement or gap identification are missed

Good income and benefits if you don't mind being a robot

AREA SALES MANAGER (Former Employee) Downers Grove, IL

    ProsExcellent income potential
    Great benefits
    Extravagant offsite meetings

    ConsMicro-managed
Live and die by their processes
    Heavy work load
Inaccurate data collection leads to faulty goal setting methodology

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow sales staff to work to their individual strengths and not try to apply one person's best practices across the board. Hire people managers instead of promoting someone simply because they were a good sales person. Stop showing favoritism and making excuses for bad data.

    Great company

Unit Manager (Former Employee) Plano, TX

ProsExcellent company that invest in their employee development. Numerous development opportunities, in the form of courses and/or on the job growth. They are on the aggressive in their expansion of the business, as well as nimble in the market place. They are extremely innovative as well. The number one pro of working with the company was the growth opportunities and development. Benefits, 401k, and stock purchase is also very strong.

ConsAlthough the growth opportunities are great, it takes an substantial amount of time to move upward. There is a lot of politics that are played and a lot of red tape in order to get projects or initiatives across the line. Also, very high demand - in order to be a top performer you must manage a team as well as manage initiatives. The work life balance is not ideal...Merit increases and bonuses are also not that great.

Advice to Senior ManagementStart moving your talent upward at a faster pace.
