I worked at Capital One full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

excellent work life balance. Great Benefits. Wicked smart people in M&A, business casual work with lot of freedom, big investments in training

    Cons

slow decision making through multiple rounds of "socialization"; Old Boy network in IT with insiders getting preferential treatment - Style often stumps Substance in "end of year calibration" with inordinate focus on competencies. A single unsubstantiated comment from one of the leaders can drown any hopes of promotion. Sad to see so many excellent candidates' careers "tapped out" at Sr Manager level
