    Pros

    Great benefits and pay/bonus
    Good training and learning options
    Stable and flexible job environment

    Cons

    Many layers resulting in bureaucracy
Slow growth for existing employees . New people can come at a higher level even though competency wise they are okay or at par with existing employees

    Advice to Management

Promote from within more compared to hiring outsiders who leave after 1 or 2 years

    Pros

Excellent people to work with, the company is headed in the right direction regarding moving toward Cloud services and trying to transform itself into a FinTech company.

    Cons

There are lots of legacy systems and people that are not going to make it in a FinTech company. Dealing with enterprise cruft can take up a lot of time.

    Advice to Management

Be more open with employees about expectations in regards to becoming a tech company. It's great to have a grand vision for organizational transformation, but most employee can't translate that vision into action.

    Pros

You'll love the work life balance, and this is very possible with the technology they've adopted. You're looked at as an expert therefore you have to deliver at that level.

    Cons

Corporate lingo can sometimes get annoying; seems like a cult to me. Background process is a pain and can get in the way of bringing in qualified candidates.

    Advice to Management

Find a better vendor to manage your background process ASAP.

    Pros

It is a great company to work for. The work-life is a great balance. And the projects really contribute to the company and its departments. The people go out of their way to help you out, and the program itself is really structured and nice.

    Cons

Personally I thought that the company did a great job at managing their interns, and the only con could be the fact that their should be more training offered for their inters.

    Advice to Management

Maybe the management should expose their interns into other aspects in their field in addition to the project that they work on for the summer.

    Pros

They are very focused on doing the right thing for the customer and employee engagement. They go above and beyond for their employees!

    Cons

The only con I can think of is that the vacation time is a little lower than other large banks I have worked for but not by much; maybe a day or two lower.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your are doing! This is a great place to work and I am so happy I made the change!

    Pros

I worked for Capital One as an analyst for several years, coming in straight from college. The Analyst Development Program was a great way to make a transition to the "real world," get a lot of training and support, and meet many people throughout the company. I felt like my managers cared about my development and provided great opportunities to succeed.
On a broader level, Capital One has a very collaborative culture. Work/life balance was prized and easily obtained. Pay and benefits were very good, especially for the Richmond area. It is easy to switch teams if your current position is a bad fit, and that flexibility is supported by management.

    Cons

Bureaucracy is a necessary evil, but that doesn't make it any less annoying.
People are smart, but this can also result in overly complex systems and processes.
There always seemed to be constant re-orgs that seemed disruptive and may or may not have actually achieved business objectives.

    Advice to Management

Preserve the culture. Don't let everything get bogged down in bureaucracy. Be aware of how your decisions are being perceived by current employees.
