I worked at CareFusion full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Pay was decent. Co-workers made going to work more worth while. They are always willing to help and have a good sense of humor to give a slight boos in the already low morale. The company gives good discounts from other vendors, but they are not as good as when they were Cardinal Health. If you can survive the riff-raff of this company, you can work anywhere.

    Cons

Due to the high demands of upper management, lower management tends to micromanage and has limited knowledge about the products being supported. If you have a question on how to troubleshoot an issue, it's best to seek help from a colleague than with a supervisor. Communication from upper management is poor and always changing. They are starting to offshore a lot of positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep jobs in San Diego. The employees that are at CareFusion are very intelligent, considering they are given poor training and documentation, so work on maintaining your top employees. Better yet, take better care of your employees.

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good work life balance, easy bank hours. Work wasn't too bad and most people there were great to work with.

    Cons

Inefficient management at director and VP levels. People are more concerned with office politics and playing games to see how people will react instead of actually taking care of their employees and trying to get results. I don't have a lot of tolerance for bs, I'd rather be direct and get the work done. Not a lot of growth unless you're willing to play the games and part of the 'in crowd'. View their employees as numbers vs. actual people

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop playing games and actually do your work and try to work collectively with one another.

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Carefusion is a company comprised of several smaller companies who through corporate politics, can't get their act together. Never quite potty trained and wet behind their ears, spilling out big words that they haven't grasped the meaning of. If you're looking at a company that over promises and under delivers take a hard look at this company.

    Cons

Infastrucure is consistently being compromised with incompetent and jr level SAP liasion, Upper level Business Management Team and IT Design and Developmemt are constantly edging for ice hockey power plays and Call Center plagued with constant dropped calls from customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop, look, listen to your employees who put their lives on hold on a continuous basis due to inadequate system errors, software upgrade issues, debacled product releasses and not really understanding your actually playing with big boy money. Spend wisely!

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Benefits (Medical, PTO, Fitness Center)
Nice co-workers, which appears to be the strength of the employer
Makes products that have an impact on maintaining health and saving people's lives

    Cons

Encourages employees to "Drink The Kool-Aid" out loud
No back fills on resources (IT, Engineering, Business)
    Lying to employees about Outsourcing
Lip-service about culture and employee values (only works when it's convenient)
Complete double-standards when it comes to Sr. Mgmt versus employees (travel perks, reserved parking, bonuses)
Managers, Directors and VP's just don't get it and are allowed to build dynasties that aren't penetrated by the message coming from below or above.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Are you even in touch with the employees or are you just waiting for the stock to hit $50 a share? Do you not see that your employee's morale is extremely low (look at the turn-out at Town Hall Meetings)? That they are looking for jobs elsewhere taking with them so much knowledge that you should truly value? That making employees sign non-disclosures about the Kuala Lumpur office as you secretly staff it to move jobs yet covers up the truth? What happened to the Culture that this company spent so much money on, saying it wasn't "The Flavor Of The Month"? Behind closed doors, please remember that it is the people who really give their time at this company to make equipment that saves people's lives; reward them for it.

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

If you like sunny San Diego weather this is one of those companies.
    Heaven for consultants.

    Cons

We don't feel the presence of HR in this company. The only interaction with HR is workday.
Performance reviews are done just for name sake. Managers have their own standards and views in rating their employees. No uniform standards across teams in recognizing talent and hardworking. Senior managers do not show any interest in interacting or taking to employees under their managers. No skip level meetings.
Managers do not encourage full time employees to participate in crucial projects and contribute. In a way the managers do not allow employees to grow in the company. Outside consultants do projects and full time employees slog late hours in fixing the production issues after project go live. No scope for improving skills as there is no training budget always. I see there is no trust among people or teams. We work in a hostile environment. Lot of meaningless documentation and change control procedures.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please talk to every body in your team. Know your team. Take outside help in devising effective review and recognition process.
Get feedback on you managers from all sides.

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Hard to say pros as it is very deceiving. What sounds good up front about PTO and other benefits is hidden behind some really small print and exceptions. Everything is for CareFusion benefit and not the employee. Lay-offs are quite regular. Middle management lacks experience and professionalism.

    Cons

Many Directors and Managers have been placed into their positions without the experience and training necessary; because of this, they are very suspicious of everyone working around them. They take micro-managing to a whole new level while at the same time, treat everyone in very insulting and condescending ways. The group is too tight and won't allow star performers to excel or speak with management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

After listening to upper management speeches and then speaking with the directors and managers who take it back to the employees, I have often wondered if they work at the same company. What is told and what is practiced is two totally different stories. Ethics are very questionable with regards to authorship of reports and business practices; the tight group justifies excessive traveling for their own gain (membership points).

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Strong brands such as Alaris, Pyxix. Someone who left the company told me there was life after Carefusion; I didn't know what they meant at the time. HA- LOL, now I do and it's great.

    Cons

Culture, communication. Great coworkers but management needs a leadership lesson. The best part about not working for this company anymore (well, second to the best part) is not having to hear customers refer to it as Confusion anymore.

I have been working at CareFusion full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good salary plus bonuses. Nice campus.
    Decent stock / 401K options.
Some good people in the trenches to work with.

    Cons

Incompetent middle and upper management who bring in their own useless cronies.
Directors let their petty tiffs impact projects and functionality.
Everyone tries to claim credit for the good things and place blame for the bad. Nobody willing to accept responsibility for their decisions.
Run you into the ground working after hours, nights, weekends.
Talk about culture, but don't actually live it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out the useless twits you have in IT. Replace them.

Until you can treat all your employees with respect, you won't be able to keep anyone.
