I worked at Career Education full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed the fact that I had the ability to be creative and innovative in my area to design new ideas for an online forum. There was a quick and professional response to changes in policy from the government in order to roll it out to the organization. They were flexible to an extent with schedules and person time.

    Cons

The overarching organization seems to continually be downsizing. They have removed focus from developing talent and promoting a positive experience to finding ways to save money in an effort to stay in business. Communication within individual areas was lacking considerably. Once new policies were rolled out by the organization, they were not appropriately managed by leadership and things would fall back to the "old ways".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recharge middle management. The leaders that should be refocusing the front line are not focused on their ultimate goals. They are caught up in running reports and babysitting their teams' every day drama. Refocus the middle management to follow current policies and procedures. Prevent the front line and tenured associates from falling back on old habits and procedures to prevent the organization from potentially encountering liability.

I have been working at Career Education

    Pros

The environment with the co workers is nice. Fee coffee. The management is nice.

    Cons

The pay does not change with your increase of duties with a "mini" promotion. You have to work weekends, holidays and any day in between. You schedule can change without much notice, so you have to be flexible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Boost morale of the company overall. Award / applaud for a job well done ALL year; not just during the month of October during employee appreciation month.
