I have been working at CareerBuilder

    Pros

Work/Life Balance; Disciplined Freedom; lots of incentives and bonuses (company trip), summer hours, great culture. Strong compensation and benefits package. Lots of opportunity for career growth and development.

    Cons

Is a good ol boys club at the top. Management is working to change some of the politics, but could do better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

New direction is great. Culture is not as strong as it used to be and the competition in the marketplace is strong. Focus on your people if you want them to stay.

    Pros

CareerBuilder is striving to perfect HR software. There is a strong sense of duty to get it right for the customer and stay focused on solving problems. There is a tireless drive to innovate on every level.

    Cons

Low pay and lack of equity in the company. It may leave many dedicated employees feeling short changed if the company did one day go public. The big exit will come to a small group of executives and stakeholders.

I worked at CareerBuilder full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

CB really is a great company to work for. It's great for those just breaking their teeth as well as experienced executives. They will always recognize hard work and reward and promote accordingly! If you're in sales and performing, you can write your own ticket.

    Cons

I honestly have to stretch to think of cons for CB. Yes, I've read other reviews about Micro - Managers, but it IS a sales organization first and foremost. The only con that I can think of is I have seen top performers, who have truly done above and beyond work, not get total support when needed. CB tends to be the type of place that so long as you're "problem - free" and hitting you numbers then all is well. Again, I'm stretching to find cons...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep listening to the employees, the "Ideas from Everywhere" competition is awesome! The Wrigley Field event was always my favorite thing (other than trip) and keep killing it at Kickoff, it provides a great "refresher"
