    Pros

Great company to work for. Benefits are good and working atmosphere is fun and interesting. Employee perks include free shift drink and 1/2 lb beans.

    Cons

Only holiday closed is Christmas. No reduced hours for other holidays. Tips are erratic, can't count on supplementing wage by a certain amount.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the importance of providing the training needed to get new hires up to speed. Communications are key to having good morale a a team that works together.

    Pros

Fast paced setting, visiting with regulars, light hearted work- it's just coffee but can be surprising rewarding! I loved it

    Cons

On your feet all day, no scheduled breaks, rare to get lunches. Chronically understaffed and utilizing shifts as team members gets old.

    Advice to Management

Ensure stores are sufficntly staffed, make sure that you start employees at a high enough wage that they are enticed to stay. Work hard with your team to build relationship.

    Pros

    Free drink every shift
Potentially awesome coworkers (possible work/family environment)
Great for networking and meeting new people
    Home-y aesthetics

    Cons

Not paid well enough due to money staying high up in the company
Every store seems to be different (different machines, some stores not strict on policies than others, etc.)
Some managers are so busy trying to make themselves look good that they destroy the comradery within the staff

    Advice to Management

Pay baristas what they deserve. They put up with so much from customers and other staff that it's barely worth it on the income they are making.

    Pros

    Flexible.
    Work/Life Balance
Perks: 1/2 pound of coffee and shift drink

    Cons

Upper Management often doesn't understand that some stores have a different types of customers. For some stores, continuously trying to upsell beans and products to daily, regular customers actually makes them not want to come in as often. The majority of regular customers only get their coffee at Caribou, they don't make coffee at home.

    Pros

You get to come across some great and wonderful people in both sides of the counter. The spirit of the company is great. Free shift drink and weekly coffee.

    Cons

Pay and hours are terrible. Very high turn over. There are no mandated breaks and the labor policies make it near impossible to get scheduled one. The company continually puts out new and temporary product, goals, and more procedures and policies with little lead time, training, and usually no increase in pay or reward for extra work. The company constantly says they're committed to creating excellent customer connections but the never-ending talk of sales numbers and hounding to meet promotional goals shows the transaction is more important than the connection.

    Advice to Management

Provide more consistency in launching new product. Increase labor budgets to ensure team can handle all requirements. Listen to low level employees in product decisions. Offer more money so that managers can afford to hire people who will both work effectively and remain in place.
