I have been working at Caribou Coffee full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Definitely the most fun I've ever had at a job! My team is amazing. Upbeat atmosphere, lots of social interaction, fun and silly place to work, and you get to learn about coffee. I was an avid Caribou customer prior to employment here, so it's cool to be on the other side of things.
I have never laughed so much at a job as I do with my coworkers.

    Cons

Some of the standard operating procedures aren't always practical.
Pay is too low to live off as a primary job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees on the front line a liveable wage.
Back off a bit on pushing the bean sales--it sometimes takes away from good customer service/being genuine with customers.

Good company, but being part of an outside market made it difficult to get exposure.

I worked at Caribou Coffee full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great product and the company is trying to do right by its employees.

    Cons

Much more of a tight knit group the closer you got to their headquarters in Minnesota. Felt at times overlooked for many opportunities.

I have been working at Caribou Coffee part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

*Free 1/2 lb. of coffee every week
*Gain knowledge of coffee and tea
    *30% employee discount

    Cons

    *Constant rollover
*Strict District Managers that do not take the time to get to know the store or the employees and therefore, there is a strange atmosphere when the DM's are in the store
*Unhappy managers - In three years working at one store I had four different managers and at one point we went over two months without any manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know your employees and treat them well. We run the store and most of the time the employees love working here so being thoughtful would be nice.

    I worked at Caribou Coffee

    Pros

There are great benefits (free coffee, fun people, fast-pace environment) and it's a great way to get started in the working world. I learned a lot from working here.

    Cons

Customer service can always be difficult, sometimes people are rude, but that doesn't say anything about Caribou itself. My team was helpful, and they had my back when I needed them to.

    I worked at Caribou Coffee

    Pros

The store I was working at was pretty amazing. We were like a little family. I had decent hours, and was able to switch it with college. Employee discount, shift drink, and half lb of beans a week

    Cons

There was more of a turn over rate, so it seemed like you were always training someone in. It was frustrating at times. I was promoted to a shift supervisor after a year of working and then they switched my schedule around without really asking me.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better COmmuncation, if you don;t like something I am do or doing wrong, tell me right away, and show me the right way.
