    Pros

Great environment (at least in my department), awesome benefits, good workplace health initiatives, fantastic employee appreciation day each year

    Cons

Getting paid can sometimes be complicated, getting of the campus during rush hour can be slow (as there are only two exits), food options on campus can get repetitive

    Advice to Management

Consider making a small welcome package for research assistants to ensure they know what is going on, as they are excluded from TA training where most of the info is distributed.

    Pros

Carleton University has vibrant student-oriented atmosphere that encourages its employee and students to achieve excellence in the work they do. This comes from efficient and effective management and inter-department cooperation.

    Cons

Occasionally there was some disagreement between management and staff. The necessity of meeting certain targets and budget constraints seemed to be the source of unpopular management decisions.

    Advice to Management

Stay in tune with your employees needs and unsure that you are aware of the difficulties that can arise when certain decisions are made.

    Pros

Nice environment. The experience depends on your supervisor though, but mine was good. High TA hourly payments. Good life/work balance

    Cons

Highest tuition ever! As an international student you have to pay more than $21,000 per year! If you can become domestic, like me, you then pay around $8,000 per year, which is a huge jump in a student's life!

    Advice to Management

lower the tuition. more related courses
