I have been working at Carlson Marketing

Pros1. The Flexibility
2. The People
3, our client--who deserve better

Cons1. Lack of vision and focus
2. Poor communication regarding direction of the organization
3. Lack of leadership
4. Not progressive
5. Boys Club

Advice to Senior ManagementListen better to the people doing the work about what and who is needed. You have cut employees that were providing leadership and direction. Now it's a place based on favortisum and not performance.

ProsYou can take as much time off when you want.

ConsYou will never get a raise and will also have no option to move up in the company. They will always find ways to hold you back.

Liked my position & was highly respected until new hires in upper managemnt felt intimidated by my & others experience

Creative Director (Current Employee)

I have been working at Carlson Marketing

ProsSalary was fairly good, great co-workers

ConsTwo people can destroy a huge company. New upper management fired the most talented and most experienced (older & higher salaried) in a classless and insulting manner, then claimed our work as their own.

Advice to Senior ManagementToo late.

Life at Carlson Marketing

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Carlson Marketing

ProsTHere are a variety of projects and clients. Many talent people, but much confusion with frequent changing of management, cultural practices and more.

ConsCarlson went through multiple levels of management and layoffs -- sometimes making huge mistakes with the people and departments they decided to ax people and then reverse their own misakes Many long lasting fifedoms also still exist at the corporate and regional levels.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere have been too many legacy people (who have been there 20+ years) still running things the way they want to -- leaving litle or no room for new ideas and innovation.

Extremely outdated company.

Client Services (Current Employee)
Toronto, ON (Canada)

I have been working at Carlson Marketing

ProsIf you like corporate jobs, this place is your typical corporation. Usual corporate benefit packages and annual bonuses.

ConsPoor Management of clients and staff. Also slow in adapting to new technologies and trends. There is also a severe lack of cooperation between departments.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire more knowledgeable and capable management staff and acquire an external creative boutique instead.
