    Pros

Hands on hiring, training and employee handling
Latitude in sale floor arrangement and display of goods
Flexibility in policies to empower employees and customers.

    Cons

Upper management is results oriented, not people oriented
Lack of company growth opportunities past shop management position
Upper management is ignorant to the realities of running a functioning, organic, living business
Lack of support from upper management

    Advice to Management

You are too focused on $$ and pleasing shareholders. Instead of results and tasks, you should focus on people and relationships. Empowering your employees and customers is the only way you will survive.

    Pros

Great place for custom development work. Latest technologies and good IT leadership.

    Cons

Pawn industry seems to be on a downward slide. No end in sight? Impacts to workforce - layoffs and cutbacks seem to be coming sporadically.

    Advice to Management

Need to settle down and set direction for company (and then share that vision with everyone).

    Pros

Good work experience, learned a lot about negotiations and jewelry. Compensation was good, and was a position that you could work the hours scheduled and then clock out and not worry about things during time off.

    Cons

Company takes advantage of customers. Talk is about satisfying customer needs, but ultimately it is about collecting the most fees from each person walking in the door as possible.

    Advice to Management

Think about the customers first in each business decision.
