Current Employee – been working at Catalent Pharma full-time for more than a year

ProsWork with some great people including managers and supervisors. Has a real great family feel to the workday. Growing company with new jobs being added frequently and promotion possibilities. Great time to be working here!

ConsPay is seems a little on the lower range compared to similar jobs and the benefits recently took a hit in the health care side like most companies. Prepare for some tough negotiating!

Advice to Senior ManagementI know that this is currently the goal but remember to keep focusing on making progression accessible to your workers. Everyone likes to chase the carrot but not if they can't see it. Keep being awesome!

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

ProsClose knit department.
Advancement opportunity.
Good community feel, like picnics and parties for employees.
My direct line upper management truly cared about his dept.

ConsStandard red-tape difficulties of being a portfolio company. Some gulf btwn upper managament and the rest of the company. Profit sharing/stocks only at very high levels.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep getting and employing input from your people.
Participation incentives that are more direct like stocks and profit sharing.

ProsProgressive pharmaceutical company that has kept up with industry standards.

ConsLong hours and hard work, lots of friction between department, especially Quality Assurrance and manufacturing. Very political. Bring your game face-no crybabies wanted.

Advice to Senior ManagementSpend a little more time on the floor and see the "troops".

Current Employee – been working at Catalent Pharma

ProsThe enviornment is comfortable which is very condusive to free idea sharing and collaboration resulting in quality deliverables. The work can be challenging which makes the days go by very quickly. Time off is very flexible.

ConsThe pay raise structure is rigid and un-appreciating. Exceptional work and dedication is rewarded with more work and responsibility. The monthly budget must be met which means weekends and holidays are at stake. Work-load is unevenly distributed. Some leadership has no interest in leading and others lead with a microscope.

Advice to Senior ManagementSurvey "associate scientist" salaries on glassdoor.com and make adjustments to team members' salaries. People are the #1 asset, not the investors.

Phila, PA

Current Employee – been working at Catalent Pharma

ProsI personally have had great opportunities for development and growth, but don't know if it's coming to an end soon. I get very little feedback on my performance day to day, week to week or even month to month, which breeds a little paranoia in me.

ConsLong hours; very little acceptance of life outside work. Lack of communication between layers and within layers. Difficult to instill and sustain change.

Advice to Senior ManagementLet people know what they are accountable for and hold them to it.
