Pros#1- I love the culture and the employees that I work with.
#2- This company continuosly trains on the new products that are being rolled out and how to help postion them to prospects. (There are also design engineers that can help support you on appointments and explain the more technical aspects that you may not understand.)

Cons-sometimes salesforce takes a long time, especially when we have to put together quotes through docusign

ProsAWESOME PRODUCT SET!. They have a full suite of products from Cloud to mobile phones and everything in between. The comp plan is also great!

Opportunity of a lifetime

I have been working at Cbeyond full-time for more than a year

ProsCbeyond gave me an opportunity to learn consultative solution selling as an entry-level employee. The product training was excellent. The daily expectations have changed dramatically over the past year and a half. I am now in charge of my own daily schedule and am free to run my business how I see fit. My sales have improved because of the recent changes in management style. I have met some incredibly successful people that I am proud to call my mentors. Community involvement is quite fulfilling.

ConsThe sales training has not evolved to mirror the actual sales strategy that lets one be successful in this position. Consequently, new employees are often discouraged for the first 4 months. After which, they either quit or are ambitious enough to succeed no matter the circumstance. A lot of the tenured employees are falling off at a rampant pace - probably because change makes people uncomfortable.

Advice to Senior ManagementWe have moved away from hiring entry-level; but, I wouldn't be a national sales leader without such opportunity. Take a chance on a green employee if you see the determination in their eyes. For those that own a successful track record, be a coach and a resource, but let them run their own business.

3 years later and I still love this place!

ProsCbeyond Invests a lot in their employees. There's a lot of recognition that is given to those that work hard. Training program is top notch. Ability to be promoted is better than any company I've worked for. The affinity groups like CWN (Cbeyond Women's Network) make working at Cbeyond pleasurable. I also love working for a company with such a high-level of community involvement and commitment to volunteering.

ConsSome of the departments are understaffed. The teams are working very hard to change that though. It isn't all that bad though because it allows people that are not working in that role to take on work for an open position if they have a passion for it, thus adding to their skills for their resume.

Meritocracy That Hires Smart, Hardworking People!

ProsCompared to other companies, the sheer volume of talent is incredible. Very challenging environment, but ton of opportunity to shine! The culture is amazing - everyone is empowered to raise concerns and given a chance to act on them. Imagine having call center employees voice an issue openly and candidly to C-level executives . . . and have those execs take them seriously rather than pay lip-service. And everyone's bonus is based on the same criteria (compared to other companies where only the elite get bonuses).

ConsBenefits not as nice as other companies in the area; vacation/sick/personal days to manage versus just PTO.

Advice to Senior ManagementSpeed to market is important, but not the only strategy; continue to focus at closing gaps and solidifying the foundation created over the past 2 years.

Good friendly family atmosphere, with tons of opportunity for growth

ProsGreat people. Lots of mobility if you work hard. Many professional growth opportunities (Six Sigma classes, their own chapter of Toast Masters, networking groups)

ConsThey deploy under tested, unfinished products. Going through a difficult transition to a new product set that not many people internally seem to understand well.

Advice to Senior ManagementGreat job in many ways. You hire wonderful people to work with. You need to end the 'speed to market" approach because it hurts the brand by releasing products that are not fully baked, and are poorly defined and articulated.

Good Company with Great Growth

I worked at Cbeyond full-time for more than a year

Pros-Commission structuring is great with a fairly big earning potential
-A lot of growth potential (I was promoted 3 times in 8 months)
-Great work atmosphere - company sponsored sporting events, etc
-Good training program - even if you're experienced in sales like I was you can learn a lot from the trainings
-The current management team in the Bay all have a lot of experience and do a great job developing employees
-The company has recently invested a lot of money into areas that have huge growth potential

Cons-Job can be tough with some long day involved. Based on previous sales positions I would have actually thought the day would have been longer but the days really only turn long at the end of the month when you're trying to close deals.
-If you don't have a driven personality this probably isn't for you as you need to be self motivated

Advice to Senior ManagementThe current management team in the Bay area is actually very good so there wouldn't be too much advice to give them.
