    Pros

Great growth company, but not always able to keep up with the pace. Measures are being put in place to help this process

    Cons

Promotion from within not always considered. That seems to be across most departments, but revenue generating departments can get the progress they need while others are following with what is available

    Advice to Management

Continue to spot these issues to help the staff within and continue to go back and look at the little picture which will take care of the big picture

    Pros

Decent Pay, Good Benefits, Good work life balance

    Cons

People tend to be clique-y, and depending on where you work, your team could be going through growing pains. Also implementation of system changes can be quite painful.

    Advice to Management

provide more opportunities to network with others in different functional disciplines/therapeutic areas. I know Celgene has a cellular therapeutics area but i dont think i've ever seen an employee from there.

I have been working at Celgene full-time

    Pros

The company provides good compensation. The benefits and also good. the stock options are better than most of the pharma companies

    Cons

The company is slowly and slowly reducing the stock option and RSU grants especially for the new hires. It takes too much time to get anything done from IT.

  6. Decent

    Pros

Great benefits and pay. Flexible atmosphere especially for people with families.

    Cons

Favoritism Is rampant. Do not expect to move up the ladder unless you kiss or hooking up withe someone. As long as you look good you can do a bad job and still get promoted.

    Advice to Management

Perception is not reality. Actual job performance takes a backseat to perceived performance. Alot of ideas that sound end up creating more work for other people.

I worked at Celgene full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pros are for employees - good benefits, nice facilities, nice "extras". As a contractor, I was paid well, but never hired.

    Cons

Contractors work in 6 months stints. Celgene stopped hiring from contractors. If what you do is core for the business, you may be hired eventually. If you are in an any kind of support role, you will not.

I have been working at Celgene (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are great, and it's a wonderful working environment. Compensation is great, and they offer stock options. It's a company that is doing well despite the awful economy.

    Cons

There is little opportunity for advancement for an administrative assistant.

    Advice to Management

Consider your internal people for jobs first. If you don't find a suitable candidate in-house, then consider outside applications. Developing current employees should be a priority.

I have been working at Celgene full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great science and smart employees. Values r&d. Offer nice development pops once you are identified as high performing.

    Cons

Stuck on the Celgene way being better than other suggestions. Uses many contractors in roles where minimal improvement is expected.

    Advice to Management

Review benefits like vacation, flex time. Many pharmacy biotech companies offer virtual arrangements for their workforce when meetings, calendars permit.
