I have been working at Celgene full-time

    Pros

There's so much to learn and overall great experience!

    Cons

Too much competition within the department!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give everyone a chance to showcase their talent rather than recycling the same people over and over again.

I worked at Celgene full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company is growing and has a lot of opportunities to offer in specific areas of the company. They offer competitive benefits. Exciting time to work for the company with so much potential in the industry.

    Cons

Did not receive clear direction from head of department and not encouraged to ask questions on clarification of role in the department. The changing roles of the department can be frustrating to some.

I have been working at Celgene as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

Everyone at Celgene is very relaxed and laid back, while work is a priority it is not brought home at all. Salary and benefit packages are great

    Cons

Cons include a lack of work resulting in boredom, and since it is such a large company finding ways to venture to other positions or departments can be difficult

I worked at Celgene as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The people I worked with allowed me to learn quite a bit and gave me the time I needed to learn

    Cons

I've heard that it depends on which sector you are in and who your mentor is, not all internships are equal and there is no uniform procedures in place to help each Intern get the fullest possible experience

I worked at Celgene full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great benefits, good compensation, and a great place to work if you like the feeling that the company you are working for is doing good in the world. The vast majority of management in San Diego value the input of thier employees and reward accordingly (most).

    Cons

Not working at the corporate can prove to be a huge challange. An excessive amount of money is spent on "retreats"...but the money isn't there when needed for raises, etc. All large companies can be very political and require the cutting of a lot of red tape to get anything accomplished...Celgene is no exception.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget, sometimes the dead weight can be fellow management.
