Current Employee – been working at Cellular Sales full-time for more than a year
Pros – You are able to make your own schedule. There is no management daily in stores so you are free to do whatever you please during your shift.
Cons – Pay check is never the same! You only get paid once a month and you never know what kind of "deductions" will be taken out. With every 100% commission job you are required to return commission if the sale does not stick. Not only does this company do just that, but you will be charged for the equipment loss as well. At times you could owe double the commission you made on the original sale. Everything is a sales pitch. From career advancements to explainations of commission cuts. Being knowledgeable of market changes and trends is the only way to know the truth about why your commission just got cut by 33% and if you didn't sign the new compensation structure form you will lose your job.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire empolyees that are worth your time and resources. Almost everyone currently working there was previously unemployeed, has a criminal background, has terrible credit, or is just unemployable by any other companies standards. Understand market trends are changing! Retail is not what it used to be and management ignores this fact. All the stores are becoming service centers for customers that purchased equipment online. Stop trying to trick your customers into thinking you are the "real Verizon". Cellular Sales is an authorized retailer and there is nothing wrong with that. Cellular Sales stores can not do the same things as corporate Verizon stores can.

Former Employee – worked at Cellular Sales full-time for less than a year
Pros – Great sales experience
Great people to work with
Cons – Bad hours
Horror pay scale
Driving with no reimbursement
Deacts take away most of your pay
Advice to Senior Management – Change the way you pay your employees. Try not to make your money off employees who work countless hours for you with nothing to show for it.

Current Employee – been working at Cellular Sales full-time for less than a year
Pros – No micro managing, Meet and work with cool people, Great Learning experience, If you just graduated college and dont have a lot of bills this is a decent stepping stone
Cons – at least an hour drive everyday I averaged 3500-4000 miles a month, there isnt a FULL paycheck till after 3rd month on sales floor, no compensation for travel whatsoever, if you have to take draws against commission be careful your setting yourself even further behind, You will be charged off for any items missing items from stores, the higher ups in this company put a lot of the risks on us "employees" you will see what I mean,
Advice to Senior Management – Compensate for travel

Former Employee – worked at Cellular Sales full-time for less than a year
Pros – Autonomy, lack of micro management
Cons – Almost everything else. Recruiters are not truthful. Expect to drive to a different store every day, some of which are an hour away. If anything is missing in inventory, you will be charged full retail for it. Some of the sales reps are great to work with and some are not honest with their customers. You'll get to clean up their mess when the customer comes back in and the original rep isn't there and you are. High turnover rate.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat your employees like the professionals that some of them are.

Current Employee – been working at Cellular Sales full-time for less than a year
Pros – The money is good, unless you happen to be shared on sales from coworker who are less than scrupulous.
Cons – -High and unpredictable chargebacks
-Micromanagement from some of the shadiest salesmen I have ever met (been in consumer electronics sales for 10 years)
-No way to tell what your upcoming paycheck is until it posts and then you have to track down the errors
-deactivations( this is the 2nd wireless company I have worked for the other helped offset deactivations by splitting the cost up with the corporate side. This isn't done here. They take half the profits from the sales but don't offset any of the deactivations. Seems shady and less than legal.)
Advice to Senior Management – -Learn how to evaluate your employees better, just because you can sell something doesn't mean you will make a good regional director or team lead.
-Change the hiring process in order to trim your turnover rates
-Take some of the money that is being used to constantly hire and train new people to actually try and retain your employees. ( One idea shuttle half that money into a fund to help offset deacts)

Current Employee – been working at Cellular Sales full-time for more than a year
Pros – *Great people to work with from many different backgrounds
*Good place to have on your resume for future jobs
*If you do appointments and sell MIFI's you can earn good money
*Hours can be flexible
Cons – Where to start?
*No chance for advancement unless you were a fratboy with the owner of the company
*Overpriced phones which makes customers upset when they find out what they really could have paid for the device
*Stores are way overstaffed and they keep hiring unqualified people
*RD's are getting rich while some of the best salespeople in the company are starving to support their families
*Commissions are not great when you are on 6-8 person shares, but as far as management is concerned as long as phone sales are good everybody is happy
*If you want to make money you must do unethical things and stab your coworkers in the back
I could go on and say much more about this company but I think I've said enough.
Advice to Senior Management – Be realistic with your staff and tell them the truth about what they should really expect from this job. I once felt like this was a career to support my family but now I understand that this is a dead end job. The RD's drive $100,000.00 cars and wear $1000.00 suits while the sales reps making them rich are starving to support their families. Stop hiring idiots and flooding the floors. You are losing some of the best salespeople around because you don't care about anyone but yourselves. When I move to greener pastures, I will write a book about my experiences here..........

Current Employee – been working at Cellular Sales full-time for less than a year
Pros – High Risk, High Reward on commissions. You can make alot of money, but you are responsible for up to 6-months out on deactivations.
Cons – You work tons of hours, hardly have a work-life balance. Your travel alot and don't get paid for the 1st 2 months, which they dont tell you until you are already
Advice to Senior Management – Get back to Cellular Sales roots of personalizing customer service, and not just slinging cell phones and air cards on everyone, when they have no desire or need for them.
