    Pros

You learn a lot about the industry, the company, and the work that goes into this role. Good pay and you don't work over 40 hours a week

    Cons

Your learning and overall experience as a intern depends on your mentor. If you have a mentor that is about to retire, that person may not take the initiative to teach you as much

    Pros

Great company to work for in a stable industry. With the baby boomers getting ready to retire, they will be a significant amount of upcoming opportunities for the upcoming generation.

    Cons

Centerpoint Energy culture has significant emphasis on loyalty, sometimes to the detriment of performance.Promotions take time and must be patient if seeking to be promoted to a supervisory or management role.

    Advice to Management

Provide more incentives to high performers.

    Pros

I enjoyed the benefits and the appreciation they show their workers.

    Cons

Did like hour in call center very competitive and everyone is fighting for that one position to get out of the call center. Very little growth in call center.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

Awesome benefits and decent pay. Everyone complains and says it should be better, but if you look up market data, it's on par. Room for advancement is there and they like to promote from within. However, a lot of it is who you know.

    Cons

Growth/promotion opportunities are slow. Some people value time in the company over abilities. There is a lot of room for process improvement. Inter-division/department communication and team work could improve. Changes are made that have unilateral effects on other areas without any fore warning.

    Pros

Salary is excellent, training is second to none, minimum travel, all tools and equipment including safety gear is supplied, opportunity to advance

    Cons

Middle management borders on incompetent, the union protects lazy employees, Human Resources is a joke

    Advice to Management

Cut out blanket training programs, for instance, I've never fallen off a ladder, sexually harassed anyone, stolen anything, or injured myself slipping on the ground, yet I sit through meetings about these topics annually. Seriously, every year.
