I have been working at CenturyLink full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The men and women behind the reigns at CenturyLink really seem to have the well-being of the employees, community, and longevity of the business at heart.

    Cons

If you're used to a faster paced development cycle, you might be a little frustrated. Some projects have a very long lifecycle, so switching gears from a faster environment may be a little frustrating at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good work. This is a special company with a lot of special people. Don't ever lose sight of that.

I have been working at CenturyLink full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

CenturyLink is a good company to work for and they are somewhat laid back. Good Pay and Benefits

    Cons

As they are a large Company, things can move really slow. Been tring to move to a different part of the cou8ntry. However HR still has not done anything. Thus I am looking where ever I can.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Based on history here I see that advancement is really possible

I have been working at CenturyLink

    Pros

Strong product portfolio, led primarily by the cloud and PaaS offerings. Lots of creativity and strong relationships with marquee names.

    Cons

Tendency to work long days, and even weekends, but being part of a sales organization, this is unfortunately the norm. Not CTL's issue as much as the industry and current work culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove barriers to business, retire products that no longer deliver value, and focus on strengths.

I have been working at CenturyLink full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Working for CenturyLink has been a very good experience. There is much to learn across multiple telecom technologies, new and old, for anyone that puts forth the effort. Plenty of career paths and upward mobility. The benefits are excellent. Management is supportive and forward thinking, always looking for ways to improve.

    Cons

Pay is a little low for the expectations of the job but still provides a comfortable living. The cost of benefits is increasing. Communication about the directional plan for the company is sometimes unclear or missing altogether.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep working towards the one company culture, keep breaking down the silos, follow through with promise based management plans and projects. Improve communication. Long term goals should look at improving pay for employees.
