One the worst HCM companies to work for

    Sales Representative (Former Employee)
    Saint Petersburg, FL

ProsNone!!!! Very poorly ran company I wish there was something positive to say.

ConsDont trust the unskilled upper management. Very poor salary vs. Other HCM companies. Seen some of the best sales pro's asked to leave even when they are top producers

Advice to Senior ManagementGet real sales managers that actually can and have sold anythung. Need to lead by example

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Horrible Managment

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood Pay, Clean Campus, Secure Campus

ConsManagement is unorganized and rude. Don't ever get sick or injured while working here. They will let you go in a heartbeat.

Not a place for the weak at heart!!!

Payroll Sales Representative -- Major Accounts (Current Employee)
    Northeast, NY

ProsLeadership belongs in Hollywood as the acting is impeccable. The Ceridian Kool-Aid sipping has been mastered. The mid tier leadership is exceptional as they are truly the buffers that quite frankly should run the company. If you can work here, you can work anywhere.....

ConsThe platform is not unique as every provider offers the same. No Talent management capabilities and the Human Resource functionality is fair at best.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire leadership that knows payroll and understands the meaning of flawless execution. The implementation is toe curling.

    Terrible Experience

    Commissions (Former Employee)
    Bloomington, MN

ProsNone that I can think of. Poorly run. I'm surprised their doors are still open to be honest.

ConsEverything. Terrible management, no training, tied to your desk. No recognition. The whole experience was overwhelmingly awful.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay attention to who your putting into middle management. My manager there made my life a living hell.

Miss-managed by executives who should have been replaced after they failed to implement their ERP system.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThe company had great benefits with above average compensation.

ConsCompany is miss managed and does not have clear direction on how correct and address growth. Culture needs to improve in certain areas to be consistent across the company.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork life balance needs to be addressed or work force will leave. They addressed this issue at corporate with a game room which is used infrequently. Working conditions need to improve at all levels.

A roller coaster of change and uncertainty

    Manager (Current Employee)

ProsAll leadership is accessible right up to the CEO and will get involved in all aspects of resolving issues.

ConsConstant turnover in leadership due to lack of realistic vision. A lot of smoke and mirrors as it smells a lot like the Dot Bomb error. Lots of good ideas and technology that look slick but poor execution and implementations that just does not equate to the hype.

Advice to Senior ManagementSell Ceridian to a large Payroll company that understands HR/payroll and knows how to implement the solution. Hire senior management that understands the HCM world as opposed to a bunch of number cruncher s and technology geeks.

Ceridian isn't a company where your career can grow, it's a dismal place.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThere aren't many pros, Ceridian isn't a good company to continue your career. The company is slowly going under.

ConsNo annual raises or incentives for employees. I wouldn't recommend any recent graduate to continue their career at Ceridian.

Advice to Senior ManagementBefore trying to sale Dayforce HCM to clients, make sure that you have actually implemented clients into the product. Give your employees an actual raise...give your employees a 2% percent raise is a slap I'm the face.

    Avoid this employer

    Senior Software Developer (Former Employee)
    Bloomington, MN

ProsThe Bloomington office is nicely located to airport and mall.

Consmicro-management. Managers don't value employees experience and skills.

Advice to Senior ManagementI see that Ceridian is trying to hire again here in the twin cities, and just want to note it's an awful environment to work in.

It's unlikely that things have much improved in two years. The general problem was that management would make technical decisions without input from development staff. Most of these decisions were poorly informed, either due to a lack of understanding of what was happening on the ground, or outdated technical experience. As such, they led to failure.

I left before Dayforce took over, but the feedback I received from others who had had dealings with them was they were the same way. The result has been a stagnant environment using outdated practices, with a reliance upon nights and weekends to make things work at the last minute.

It's an ok environment for a junior developer just starting out, as you'll get experience with a wide variety of tools but don't plan on staying there more than a year.

    A company in transition

    Sales Representative (Current Employee)

ProsInteresting new technology (Dayforce). Charismatic Leader.

ConsCeridian is being structured for a new buyer/owner. Sell anything... promise anything to drive up sales and increase short term revenue. Cut heads, turnover sales staff, reduce sales incentives... save money! Product (Dayforce) is very "buggy" and most initial clients are dissatisfied with their implementations. Implementation delays mean commissions are delayed and put many deals, that have time pressure, at risk.

Eliminated many existing businesses and services (Healthcare Exchange business, CDHP, etc.). Looking to get rid of COBRA, potentially EAP and COMDATA (the crown jewel of the company).

Important to speak French... Spanish, on the other hand, who cares? (Note that company communications are in both French and English, but not Spanish). It seems like the company is transitioning to become a Quebec based firm from a US based firm.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet Dayforce working properly and make sure initial implementations go better.
