Not the best place to work, there is a lot of unhappy people there. They are just working for a paycheck.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Ceridian full-time for more than 10 years

ProsThey have good medical benefits. It used to be a fun place to work at, but now it is not due to the moral upper management has created.

ConsVery political company, it is who you know not what you know that gets you a advancement Poor morals, which is a toxic environment.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Poor Training and High expectations

Data Analyst (Former Employee)
Salt Lake City, UT

I worked at Ceridian full-time for more than a year

ProsExcellent Benefits, good location, adequate parking, flexible scheduling.

ConsExpected to work too many hours during the Holiday season. Training was poorly presented and one-on-one training was non existent.

The company is pulled in too many directions led by senior executives who put themselves before the rank and file.

Vice President (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I worked at Ceridian full-time for more than 3 years

ProsDay to day people who got the work done are the backbone of the company. They work hard and are the reason the service levels are achieved consistently.

ConsLack of transparency and long term investments in a brand. It's a culture by default driven by private equity based metrics that reward the owners first and others last. No real long term compensation (stock) to reward the commitments employees make to the company over the long haul.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet more input from us based employees and hire US based executives (not in Canada).

Slow Motion Downsizing

Finance Manager (Former Employee)
Minneapolis, MN

I worked at Ceridian full-time for more than 5 years

ProsPleasant work environment. Hard-working coworkers.

ConsIt's a great place to work as long as you're ok working long hours and limited mobility. I watched as some very good people were pushed out and replaced by others with less experience and likely at a lower salary. I spent my last 3 years there waiting for the ax to fall. When it finally did, I was grateful.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe honest about the company's future.

Serious lack of vision and commitment

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
Fountain Valley, CA

I worked at Ceridian full-time for more than 10 years

ProsPay and benifits were fair. If you were lucky enough to have a manager you were able to trust things were not to bad off.

ConsShifting from one idea to the next with zero planning. Constantly being told we should be great full that we still had jobs. Lack of support from upper management. Zero vision for growth.

Advice to Senior ManagementListen to the men and women on the ground who actually do the day to day running of the company. Quit bringing in all of the fish, who moved my cheese, secrets to success nonsense. Treat your employees like family and not like cattle.

Which way is the Wind blowing today?

Payroll Sales Representative -- Major Accounts (Former Employee)

I worked at Ceridian full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGood industry, good concept, some good people, privately owned, relatively good salary to start with and ability to work remote in a sales territory environment

ConsExec Management changes every year, very cut-throat favoritism, have to watch your back constantly, have sales quota with products that cannot be implemented for over 6 months, benefits not so great

Advice to Senior ManagementGet up to speed with the Competition and treat sales like they should be treated - the only reason you are still in business

Middle Management is Useless...Sales is struggling Nationwide...don't believe the hype!

Major Account Sales-HCM (Former Employee)
Los Angeles, CA

I worked at Ceridian full-time for more than 3 years

ProsWork/Life Balance
Virtual Environment
Talented Development Team

ConsSolution has a very niche market based on capabilities and where it falls in development life cycle.
Inability to make commitments to prospects regarding implementation timelines.
Small territories due to niche solution...in the 300-500 ee segment sales close rates are averaging in the 5-10% range nationwide. Overall territory counts on avg. are 150 accounts of which 40-50% are not good fits due to a vast myriad of reasons.
Solutions Consultant leadership are quick to be disengaged in opportunities to keep their #'s looking good than to be collaborative towards working towards a viable solution offering.
Comp structure has changed 3 times in the last year and a half.
Implementation does not count towards quota retirement and is paid a commission of less than 2% to sales.
A number of senior level management changes in the last 10 years...too many to count.
Incompetent Middle Management.

Advice to Senior ManagementRun a flatter organization; No need for middle management as they are just messengers and do not contribute much to sales process success. Give more territory to sales based on the reality of where the product fits in with most accounts...cut the sales force to do this and get rid of DVP's to a AVP-Rep structure. Listen to feedback from the field level to get a better understanding of challenges rather than the DVP'S level which are looking to justify their jobs.
