I have been working at Ceridian full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great health benefits, time off, culture and products. Have started to invest in career path creation for young employees but are still years behind the competition.

    Cons

Salary and commission plans aren't good at Ceridian unless you're a large market or Account Management. Company seems to invest in those individuals. Customer service is really terrible. Ceridian Products are good, but are way overpriced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The SMB-Mid Market's contain the largest opportunity to sell deals in the US then any other space. Invest ($) into these representatives salary/commissions or they will gladly leave to a competitor to sell an inferior product and make way more money.

    I worked at Ceridian

    Pros

I enjoyed my job and responsibilities. At the time I worked there, the time off policy was great! Started at 4 weeks. I don't know if it is that way any longer

    Cons

Company continuous Re-structuring of departments and laying people off. Even having them re-apply for the positions they already held.

    Pros

Longevity for some but others are not so fortunate regardless of level. They have good benefits medical dental and vision but a limited choice of plans.

    Cons

Presidents, Directors, Managers at all levels and regular employees are not safe from the ax.
Management seeking to say derogatory things about past employees to current employees whom they never met.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't just worry about going public next year. Be concerned about the present and have a 5 year plan.

I worked at Ceridian part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Comp & benefits are on parr with market (but the comp plan changes often). Fairly good culture over all. Solid training. District Managers, despite their frustrations with leadership, are supportive.

    Cons

Comp plans change constantly & often not rolled out until the bed if Q1.
Products of emphases were ALWAYS discontinued after sales spent 12 months ramping up sales
Commission checks were not correct for the last 2 years of my employment. The "review/correction" process was so painful that many reps just gave up on trying to get them corrected.
Constant change in goals, no long term goals, very short sited company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Set 3/5and 10 year goals. Solidify a comp plan by Jan 1 & stick with it. Be proactive with customers for errors & product shortcomings, stop reducing pay outs. Force finance to tighten up the communication between the commission & billing systems to reduce rep frustration with errors with inaccurate commissions.

    Pros

Only good thing about this company are your co-workers

    Cons

Worst Upper Management Team I've ever seen in 20+ years of being a sales professional

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn how to sale and appreciate your employees suggestions, get rid of the managers that cant sell nor never have.

I worked at Ceridian full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - This was a great company before they went private
    - Flashy software that shows well (but can't implement)
    - They have great Salespeople and lots of great support talent
    - Comdata and SVS should thank their lucky stars that they are no longer owned by Ceridian! Sold last Summer!
    - Company is half the revenue they used to be thanks to the sale of Comdata and SVS

    Cons

    - Their Dayforce software looks good in demos but has proven to be incredibly difficult to implement
    - As a result they have continued to miss top line forecasts which has led to continuous layoffs to protect the bottom line
    - Their executive team and HR organization are all completely worthless, especially the CEO and CHRO -
    - The CEO is a micromanager and works his people to death
    - The CHRO is incapable of appropriately advocating for the common employee and appears to be a puppet rather than a leader

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the company and move on, isn't that what you wanted to do all along anyways?

I have been working at Ceridian full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is pretty decent but still seems inadequate when compared to the nonsense you have to deal with from management.

    Cons

The company is ran by numbers.........bottom line. They have little concern for employees as individuals. They're constantly making changes in a meager attempt to keep up with the Jones without fully researching what is required to make the change a successful one. Resources are extremely limited and scarcely provided. I have worked here a few years and have only experienced one manager that seemed to care about her staff enough not to shuck and jive for upper management and actually stand against implementing changes that were not conducive to productivity of the team as a whole. Upper management uses extreme micromanagement to control the staff and then threatens to fire you if you do not walk the tight rope.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees!!!!!!!!!!! Happy employees makes a company better. It's counter productive to treat your employees like crap and expect them to go above and beyond rendering outstanding service while placing unrealistic and ridiculous demands over their heads.

Transforming technology but at a high cost

I have been working at Ceridian full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Ceridian Dayforce offers a solid blend of employees with decades of expertise with young, straight out of university employees with nonconforming, creative ideas. The CEO and senior leadership have hands on working knowledge of the Dayforce product. It's a start up mentality run business unit within a strong corporate brand.

    Cons

Ceridian Dayforce is transforming technology but at a high cost to its integrity and employee satisfaction. Leadership consistently undermines employee expertise because senior leadership, including the CEO know better than everyone else. If you want to be a follower and are good at just doing what you've been told, this is the company for you! If you have a mind of your own and believe your expertise and opinions will add value, look for employment elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Define a solid business strategy and focus on it; is it globalization, mobile, user experience, landing page? Listen to your employees; stop yelling at them (yes, I mean actual yelling), demeaning them in front of their peers and attempting to "motivate" through belittlement. Acknowledgement of effort goes a long way in fostering an environment where people want to work.

I have been working at Ceridian full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I've met some interesting, smart and talented people, worked for some great managers and have learned a lot during my tenure.

    Cons

Leadership is concentrated on the bottom line, to the detriment of the employees. They have cut back on employee benefits and perks although they try to make it appear otherwise. They will continue to lose customers and employees if they don't stop and look at the internal problems that continue to fester.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The leadership team needs to quickly learn how to work together or else they will continue to lose valuable employees and further ruin the company's reputation.

I have been working at Ceridian full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Local, free parking with some spaces covered, secure building protected from bad neighborhood

    Cons

Management talks in circles, spends team money living at Vinoy, always hiring as all of the knowledge that is gained leaves, job scales and ranges are secret based on who you know not what you know. No salary bands so job can range from 42,000.00 to 120,000. No management training or mentoring, no bandwidth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

reduce the middle management and backfill all of the open CSA,SDA,SDM positions. Headquarters open your eyes to what your current management is not. Now that the master of pulling the wool over your eyes has left to the UK, check the lost sheep that he left behind as they are just wandering more blindly then ever.
