I have been working at Charter Communications full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, pay, and bonus, depending on where you are. Very flexible. Business causal dress, though some dress more formally, and others wear jeans.

Some vendors, but heavy use of linux and open source. Complicated field, but Charter gives you the opportunity to learn what you don't know, and people are willing to help when they are not overloaded with work. Came into the industry with limited experience (though there is really no other way). Excellent and open management.

Charter is a large organization, and my experience is based on my particular area and team. Team management, values, and interactional norms can vary.

    Cons

Large corporation, so as an engineer I spend more time than I would like in meetings and coordinating between teams. At least 45h/wk, with many of the principle engineers working upwards of 50.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage better work/life balance and fewer meetings.

I worked at Charter Communications full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They had amazing pay, great benefits, managers were wonderful. I mean what more can you ask for an employer. I'm deeply saddened that I had to part ways fro personal reason and if they would except me back I would in a heart beat.

    Cons

The only issue I had was scheduling. You just never knew when things could change at the drop of a hat. I guess I'm flexible enough to where I was able to be ok with it most of the time but I know some of my co-workers didn't or couldn't handle it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep doing what you're doing. It works it really does!!!
