    Pros

    The children, families and teachers

    Cons

All teaching ability is taken away from the teachers which turns them into uncaring robots. Teachers can't even arrange their classrooms! Someone comes in after hours and arranges it for them, even throwing away items that were the teachers personal items. When the teachers are treated like they are incompetent they stop caring about thier work.

    Advice to Management

Look closely at your regional management team.

    Pros

Not much other than the teachers being saints and loving working with children.

    Cons

Poor management. Poorly treated. Poor wages. Long hours. You will stay long past your shift without being asked to stay. During hiring you will be told one thing about the job and end up in another. Schedule told to you day to day never week by week. If you are sick or in the hospital you are still expected to come into work. Children have had contagious viruses and the director/ asst still allowed the children to come and never notified parents of the sickness. Constant hand, foot, and mouth going around.

    Advice to Management

    New management needed all over

    Pros

I love kids but the adults running the show are not competent.

    Cons

high teacher turnover, no respect from management, all about the numbers and giving teachers the max# of children they can have which is often too many, especially with the younger kids, I was never told what my vacation or sick time benefits were, I could not be out without eye rolling and/or chastizing from the director/assistant director. Backbiting, disgruntled employees...a very unpleasant atmosphere in which to work. Also, you WILL be expected to come in even if you have a contagious disease like the flu or pinkeye.

    Advice to Management

Learn who your true hard workers are, dont believe everything you hear...and realize that some of your favorites are abusing the kids.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees and follow state guidelines

    Pros

    It's a job. that's all

    Cons

Teachers are unqualified, leaving you to do more work. Your hours get cut when they can. Teacher is expected to have MAX number of children at all times--the profit is the company's highest priority. So whatever the max ratio is, that is what the teacher will get, not less. Not enough activities and toys for children. They do not care about learning and a good atmosphere. It is about getting the parents to pay, keeping them, sending them home and hoping you don't get sued. It is minimum wage--the employee handbook specifies that employees can only get raises on an annual basis.

    Advice to Management

Other day cares care about their children, not just the profit

    Pros

children are the only good thing!

    Cons

mean, belligerent, just not a nice person and that is the DIRECTOR!
when they took over all the original staff was treated so badly they left.
Many parents voiced opinions and were told there's the door...many daycare's in Garner to choose from.
Go through teachers like mad! 7 toddler/waddler teachers in a MONTH!
Children are numbers to most of the staff and definitely the front office.
Pay is minimal too...go by "paper" certification not longevity. Did not keep word from the buyout.

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to really look into this center and NOT go my the directors "account of what is happening". Teachers are NOT just numbers. We are there to help and educate the young minds of children...can't do that if they get rid of the good ones and the ones left are looking for new jobs! Very racist as well: all the white teachers were gone within 3 months!

    Pros

working with kids; isn't that why anyone would want to work in childcare?

    Cons

    teachers not respected by management
many teachers allowed to get away with breaking rules
new teachers are lucky if they last; they either get let go or they get run off by rude and downright mean coworkers and directors
low pay, no real opportunities for advancement

    Advice to Management

Be patient with newer teachers and train them
don't believe gossip from disgruntled favorites who've worked there a long time
understand that teachers have family and life issues and need time off, etc.
check more often to see what's really going on with teachers and kids. How are the long term teachers getting away with being so hateful and the perfectly decent teachers are getting bad evaluations?

    -No loyalty to employees
    -Hours are cut regularly

    Pros

Working with the children and parents. Health benefits were decent.

    Cons

Management. Pay. District Manager was/is racists.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest for corporate to listen to their employees that work at the bottom of the chain. The people they hire don't always do what they are suppose to do. The teachers are not lying when they something is going on.

    Pros

weekends off... sometimes, was able to work with children on a daily basis, easy clock in procedure

    Cons

no flexibility, poor management, only 15 minutes to clean and close at the end of the night, existing employees wouldnt speak to new workers, no communication, screaming and yelling often, child to teacher ratio very high, i had 20 kids by myself, low pay, babies always crying, staff in trouble for things they were never notified of.

    Advice to Management

communicate with staff without yelling, provide tour of facility at time of interview or hire
