Current Employee – been working at Children Of America full-time for less than a year
Pros – We all work as a team, we get the job done. We care about the children and families. Curriculum exceeds the others I have used. There is room for growth in the company.
Cons – Nothing so far that I can think of.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep doing what your doing.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Children Of America full-time
Pros – I have nothing but good to say about current management and the school atmosphere! Management do their absolute best to meet everyone's changing needs on a daily basis. They do the best they can and work hard, a rarity in childcare these days. I feel listened to and know that management cares about the families and the staff equally.
Cons – The corporate office is not as quick as they should be to fix things in the building that have broken and as the company has grown we get much less guidance with everyday operation. Guidance is of great importance when turning over management at a high rate to open new schools. I have seen employees that are not necessarily exemplary get promoted to a management position and transferred to a new school because of corporates lack of guidance and supervision of its' management staff.
Advice to Senior Management – Do a few extra reviews and observations at your schools of staff and management. Opening new schools will become unsuccessful if your current management doesn't know how to handle the large job they are given and those schools lose enrollment because of it. Oh, and pay your teachers better based on the state they are in! Trappe has some of the lowest pay in the area for childcare lead teachers!

Former Employee – worked at Children Of America full-time for more than a year
Pros – Very clean school
Always looks beautiful, show-casing the artistic ability and learning from the children
Great upper management. Even the guys from corporate are nice. Whenever they visit they always introduce themselves and shake our hands. They are never there to pick our school apart; they only have nice things to say. They even interact with kids!
The school has a "warm" feeling to it. Many staff are always laughing and smiling throughout the day.
Excellent families and kids. One of the best set of parents I've ever worked with.
Great staff. Everyone is there for the same reason...the kids.
Another positive for anyone looking to advance their career is that Children of America is always looking to promote from within. They truly believe in the staff that they have and are always giving opportunity to those that deserve it.
Cons – The con for almost any childcare company is the pay. You either accept or you choose another career. As educators we will NEVER make the amount we deserve. We don't do this job for the money; we do it for the kids. You can't put a price tag on them.
Advice to Senior Management – I believe our management team really does do their best. All of their hard work is seen every day in a million different ways. Keep doing what you're doing!

Current Employee – been working at Children Of America full-time for more than a year
Pros – Fantastic fellow employee's. Great work environment. Wonderful support from management.
Cons – None that I can think of. I have been teaching for a very long time and wish that i could tell you all my years were good. But when I came to COA I was impressed with the companies core values and how much they appreciate their employees and families. I normally do not submit reviews but after reading some of the comments on this site I felt compelled. It is important for people to know the difference from comments made from employees that are simply disgruntled and those comments that are constructive. This I hope, will be more constructive.
Advice to Senior Management – Stay on the path you are on. You offer a much needed service.

Current Employee – been working at Children Of America
Pros – my love of children
possibility for promotion
work experience
beautiful well maintained classrooms
other employees were easy to work with
Cons – it's hard work, but it's worth it
the days are sometimes very long
the parents can sometimes be hard to deal with
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to praise and reward your staff, we are the ones that represent all that you have strived to do in each school. Incentives would be a great way to improve on this, it makes everyone happy. The Best Foot Forward Campaign is a great idea. It gives us the opportunity to compete with all schools in different areas of what we do. That's a great program. Love what you do, thanks for the opportunity!!

Pros – It is simply amazing what they have done with how to run a child care center. Every detail is thought out and of course transcends to how they provide for their employees. Just a really great learning experience with pleasant people to work with and a really nice benefits package.
Cons – Sometimes the parents can be difficult to deal with, but we all know how precious their children are to them.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work!

Pros – I love working at Children of America. My director is very understanding and takes the time to meet with me daily to go over what we need to accomplish that day. I have learned a lot from her and have a lot of respect for her and the company in what they do to make this a great place for children.
Cons – The hours can be very long, so by the end of the week i am spent.
Advice to Senior Management – Doing a great job, just please keep in touch with your employees.

Former Employee – worked at Children Of America
Pros – There are several reasons why Children of America is a great place to work. Employees are friendly and helpful, management encourages you and helps you with just about every phase of learning so you fully understand procedures so you can do your job well. I have worked at several childcare companies before and never felt so at home - I just wish they had a center in Texas where my husband is transferred, I will miss this job. It has been very good for me and my family.
Cons – The hours can be long, but it was my experience that whoever was on duty we worked together as the children were our top priority. We made it a fun experience for the children so it became a fun experience for us as well.
Advice to Senior Management – Thank you for all your hard work - I will not forget this experience.
