    Pros

clean work environment. World reknowed. Lots of international patients. Lots of managers. Will hire new grads and train them. Good benefits package. Free CPR classes. Has self scheduling but bosses often change what you put in.

    Cons

no transport so nurses have to bring their patients to all their tests. Peer review and eval. process is lengthy and repetitive. Units don't talk with each other so often times ideas don't travel that could be helpful. Nurses are so busy there is no time for lunch/diner break (maybe 10 min). Have to fight for when you want to take vacation even though they give you hours to have it. No rewards for seniority. Getting rid of 1946 Prouty Garden despite petitions of thousands of staff and families( there are pt's ashes there!).

    Advice to Management

listen!!!!! Management has their own ideas about everything and never listens to front line care before they make a policy. They care more about their image then employees and patients. Hir nurses and rely less on travelers

    Pros

    - many opportunities to learn (shadowed for several interviews and throughout my internship) - had several projects that I was able to work on - benefits are good

    Cons

    - disconnected (don't know what's going on even in own department) - supervisors/management does not have much time for employees - HR is extremely unprofessional, slow, and unorganized (1. showed up to HR for interview & employee said she had to cancel so I should just wait for 30+ min. until I had to meet with dept. 2. HR employee told me to write another dept. thank you notes after interviewing <duh - I always do that. 3. was told I had to meet at HR 1st before interview w/ dept. b/c they don't want any "crazies at their hospital like where I currently work <BWH>) - salaries are low - very difficult to get in - slow to implement projects/programs

    Advice to Management

    - value your employees more - connect the hospital depts. more - encourage HR to be more professional when recruiting potential employees
